Compositions and methods are provided for the recovery of minerals from mineral suspension, such as lime generated in Kraft pulping processes. More particularly, the composition comprises polyalkoxylate co-polymers, alkyleneamine alkoxylates, and optionally anionic surfactants, that when added to mineral dewatering process, aids in the recovery of the mineral.

Composition and method for the dewatering of aqueous suspensions

The current method relates to compositions and methods for inhibiting the deposition of organic contaminants in pulp and papermaking systems. The current method also relates to controlling the deposition of organic contaminants on equipment in the pulp and papermaking systems, which can cause both quality and efficiency problems. In particular the method relates to the use of non-sulfonated or slightly sulfonated lignin dispersions and solutions for inhibiting deposition of contaminants in pulp and paper making system.

Additionally, compositions and methods of making lignin nanoparticle-polymer complexes comprising derivatized and/or non-derivatized lignin nanoparticle dispersions and water soluble and/or water dispersible polymers are disclosed. Further, methods of using at least one of the lignin nanoparticle dispersions, derivatized lignin nanoparticle dispersions, and/or the lignin nanoparticle-polymer complex to impart rinse-resistant properties, such as hydrophilic properties, to substrates, or function as tunable nanoparticle surfactants are disclosed.
