An aqueous composition including multi-stage latex polymer particles is provided. The multi-stage latex polymer particles include (A) a first-stage polymer containing (i) an ethylenically unsaturated acid monomer with two carboxylic acid groups and (ii) a first vinyl monomer, and (B) a second-stage polymer containing (i) an ethylenically unsaturated monomer with an epoxy group and (ii) a second vinyl monomer. An article including a nonwoven textile impregnated with the aqueous composition is also provided.

Aqueous composition comprising multi-stage latex polymer particles

Aqueous-based release coating compositions are disclosed. The disclosed aqueous-based release coating compositions are particularly suitable for use with pressure sensitive adhesives. In some embodiments, the aqueous-based release coating compositions include (A) a vinyl-based emulsion copolymer comprising a copolymerizable acid monomer, (B) a silicone-based emulsion comprising a mixture of amine-, polyol-functional siloxane and epoxy-, glycol-functional siloxane, and (C) a polymeric dispersant comprising an acid functional group. In some embodiments, the weight ratio of silicone-based emulsion (B) to polymeric dispersant (C) in the aqueous-based release coating compositions is from 2:1 to 3:1. The disclosed release coating compositions are suitable for use in, inter alia, tape applications.

Aqueous-based release coating compositions

Provided herein is a water-based hybrid pressure sensitive adhesive composition and a method of producing the same. The composition comprises: (A) 100 parts by mass of a silicone pressure sensitive adhesive; (B) 5 to 80 parts by mass of an acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive; (C) water in a sufficient amount to emulsify or disperse components (A) and (B) in component (C); and (D) 0.1 to 10 parts by mass of an amino-functional alkoxysilane compound, a hydrolysate thereof, or a hydrolyzed condensate thereof. Components (A) and (B) are emulsified or dispersed in component (C). The composition can be cured to form a pressure sensitive adhesive exhibiting good peel adhesion and low silicone migration.

Water-based hybrid pressure sensitive adhesive composition and method of producing the same

The present disclosure provides a two-component solvent-less adhesive composition. The two-component solvent-less adhesive composition contains the reaction product of (A) an isocyanate component containing the reaction product of (i) an isocyanate monomer and (ii) a first dimer acid polyester polyol; and (B) a polyol component containing (i) a second dimer acid polyester polyol and (ii) optionally, a polyol selected from a polyether polyol, a polyester polyol, and combinations thereof. The two-component solvent-less adhesive composition contains from 15 wt % to 45 wt % units derived from dimer acid, based on the total weight of the two-component solvent-less adhesive composition.

Disclosed is a composition comprising at least one interpolymer dispersed within an aqueous medium, the interpolymer comprising at least one unsaturated monomer and at least one selected from the group consisting of at least one conjugated acid, at least one mono-ester of a conjugated acid, and mixtures thereof, and, optionally, at least one surfactant configured to stabilize the interpolymer within the aqueous medium. The conjugated acid may be derived from a naturally-occurring oil, such as tung oil. There is also provided a method for preparing a composition, comprising forming an interpolymer comprising the at least one unsaturated monomer and the at least one selected from the group consisting of at least one conjugated acid, at least one mono-ester of a conjugated acid, and mixtures thereof. There is still further provided a pressure sensitive adhesive comprising the composition prepared according to the disclosed method.

Water-based pressure sensitive adhesive compositions and methods of making same

Water-based pressure sensitive adhesive composition and methods of make the same are provided. The water-based pressure sensitive adhesive composition comprises at least one interpolymer dispersed within an aqueous medium, the interpolymer comprising at least one unsaturated monomer and at least one compound selected from a group consisting of at least one conjugated acid, at least one ester of a conjugated acid, and mixtures thereof.

Provided are a process, the process includes (i) first, contacting a textile with an aqueous solution containing a cationic hydroxyethylcellulose polymer to form a modified textile component; (ii) subsequently, impregnating the modified textile component with an aqueous polyurethane dispersion externally stabilized with an anionic surfactant, the aqueous polyurethane dispersion including a second surfactant; and (iii) precipitating the polyurethane in the modified textile component. Also disclosed are a synthetic leather produced by the process.

Aqueous polyurethane dispersion

An aqueous polyurethane dispersion compositions are disclosed. The compositions include a polyurethane prepolymer dispersed in an aqueous medium, the polyurethane prepolymer comprising an isocyanate and a crystalline polyester polyol having a hydroxyl content of 20 to 150 mg KOH/g and a melt temperature of less than or equal to 90&#xb0; C. Methods of forming a laminate are also disclosed. The methods include providing an aqueous polyurethane dispersion, applying the polyurethane dispersion to a surface of the first substrate, bringing the side of the first substrate into contract with a surface of the second substrate, and curing the aqueous dispersion, thereby laminating the first substrate to the second substrate. Laminates formed by the methods and including the compositions are also disclosed.

Aqueous polyurethane dispersion adhesive compositions

A solventless adhesive is disclosed, the adhesive comprising an isocyanate component comprising at least one isocyanate prepolymer that is the reaction product of reactants comprising at least one isocyanate, at least one polyol, and a branched alkane diol, and a polyol component comprising at least one polyol and a branched alkane diol. The branched alkane diol can comprise a single side alkyl chain, such as 3-methyl-1,5-pentanediol, 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol, and combinations thereof. Further, a method for forming a laminate is disclosed, the method comprising forming a solventless adhesive composition comprising a branched alkane diol, applying a layer of the adhesive composition to a surface of a film, bringing the layer into contact with a surface of another film to form a laminate, and curing the adhesive composition. Still further, a laminate formed by the method is disclosed.

Two-component solventless adhesive compositions and methods of making same

The present disclosure provides a curable composition comprising from 70 to 99% by dry weight based on total dry weight of the curable composition, an acrylic emulsion component, and from 1 to 30% by dry weight based on the total dry weight of the curable composition, a polyolefin emulsion component prepared by emulsifying a polycarboxylic-compound functionalized polyolefin starting material.

The present invention provides a curable aqueous composition comprising a (co)polymer and an epoxy crosslinker. The (co)polymer comprises, as (co)polymerized units, from 0.05% to 10% by dry weight, based on total monomers of the (co)polymer, ethylenically unsaturated acidic monomers having at least two carboxylic acid groups, and the epoxy crosslinker is an aliphatic compound having at least two reactive oxirane groups. It further provides a method for forming a treated substrate and a substrate formed by the method.

Curable aqueous composition

A rosin dispersion is a reaction product of, by dry weight based on total dry weight of the rosin dispersion, from 80% to 98% a rosin resin, and from 2% to 20% a dispersant. The rosin resin is processed by at least one method of a) modification, b) hydrogenation or disproportionation, and c) polymerization or esterification from raw material rosins. The dispersant is selected from C-Caliphatic carboxylic acids, olefin (meth) acrylic acid copolymers, and other acid/anhydride modified polymers.
