Apparatuses, systems, and methods for Reflective Quality of Service (RQoS) enhancements. Methods may include enhancements for both UE behavior and network function behavior. Network function behaviors may include enhancements to UPF behavior and SPF behavior. Enhancements to RQoS may include methods for resetting an RQoS indicator (RQI) bit for downlink packets of a flow destined for a UE, methods for generating a flow ID to include in a SDAP header destined for a UE, methods for using the flow ID to limit L3 and L4 header parsing, methods for sending/receiving feedback regarding processing of the RQI bit, methods for maintaining a QFI mapping table, methods for skipping parsing of SDAP header fields, methods for specifying and signaling a QoS Flow Identifier (QFI) range to a UE, methods for limiting downlink header parsing, methods for updating a QFI, and methods for performing high efficiency RQoS processing.

Reflective QoS enhancements

While in an inactive state, a user equipment (UE) device transmits a message to a base station. The message indicates the UE device's intent to perform transmission and/or reception of user data with the network during the inactive state. The message may include a portion of the user data and/or a buffer status report. The UE device receives a response message that induces a state transition in the UE device. Different state transitions (e.g., to idle, inactive, legacy inactive, connected) may be induced by different types of response message (e.g., release, release with suspend configuration, resume, setup). One particular type of response message causes the UE to stay in the inactive state and enables subsequent user data transmission/reception in the inactive state. The response message may implicitly (or explicitly) indicate that forwarding of the user data to a core network was successful.

RRC-based user data transmission in an inactive state

An interface circuit in an electronic device may provide rate feedback. During operation the interface circuit may transmit one or more packets or frames associated with a data stream that are intended for the recipient electronic device, where the data stream is associated with a video encoder. Then, the interface circuit may estimate a communication performance metric associated with at least the transmissions. For example, the estimated communication performance metric comprises an effective capacity associated with a wireless link between the electronic device and the recipient electronic device. Moreover, the effective capacity may be estimated based at least in part on an efficiency of the wireless link. Next, the interface circuit may provide the rate feedback intended for the video encoder based at least in part on the estimated communication performance metric. In some embodiments, when beamforming occurs, the rate feedback may be reset.

Rate feedback for wireless video streaming

A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for wireless communication are provided. In one aspect, an apparatus is configured to receive information indicating a wake time period from a STA and use the received wake time period to schedule communication with the STA. The apparatus may use the received wake time period to determine a target transmission time for transmitting a trigger frame to the STA. The apparatus may transmit a beacon to the STA and then transmit the trigger frame to the STA at the target transmission time following the beacon. The apparatus may also indicate an offset from the beacon that the apparatus will use for communication with the STA based on the wake time period of the STA.

Wireless communication involving a wake time period for a station

Methods, apparatus, and computer-readable media for wireless communication may involve techniques for throughput estimation. An expected air time parameter may be used as a parameter for estimating throughput. The expected air time parameter may be indicative of an estimated air time fraction obtainable for communications using an access point (AP), for example, between a wireless station (STA) and the AP. Either the expected air time parameter or an estimated air time fraction determined (e.g., calculated) from the expected air time parameter may be transmitted from the AP to the STA (or other communication device) to allow the STA (or other communication device) to determine an estimated throughput for communications using the AP.

Wireless local area network throughput estimation

Systems and methods for wireless communications are disclosed. More particularly, aspects generally relate to an apparatus for wireless communications. The apparatus generally includes an interface for communicating with a plurality of wireless nodes via a plurality of antennas, and a processing system configured to determine a power state of each of the plurality of wireless nodes, and change from a first antenna mode used for communicating with the wireless nodes using a first number of spatial streams to a second antenna mode used for communicating with the wireless nodes using a second number of spatial streams, based on the determined power states of the wireless nodes.

Access point standby power optimization across an arbitrary number of associated clients

A method and apparatus for concurrent wireless communications on multiple channels of the same frequency band. A wireless device receives a first data signal via a first transceiver chain while concurrently initiating a transmission of a second data signal via a second transceiver chain of the wireless device. The wireless device suspends updates to one or more tracking loops of the first transceiver chain in response to initiating the transmission of the second data signal. The updates to the one or more tracking loops may be suspended prior to transmitting the second set of data from the second transceiver chain. The wireless device may subsequently resume updates to the one or more tracking loops of the first transceiver chain after completing the transmission of the second data signal.

Skip RX during SBS transmission

A data source sends a synchronization signal and information to several data sinks that use the synchronization signal and a specified parameter to determine when to process the information. The data source and data sinks may comprise wireless nodes such as, for example, a wireless audio source that sends multi-channel data to a pair of wireless earpieces. The wireless earpieces use the synchronization signal and a latency interval to determine the appropriate time to output audio based on the audio channels.

Synchronization of signals for multiple data sinks

A method and apparatus for concurrent wireless communications on multiple channels of the same frequency band. A wireless device determines when a first transceiver chain of the wireless device is to receive a first data signal. The wireless device then transmits a second data signal via a second transceiver chain of the wireless device based at least in part on the determination. The wireless device further suspends the transmission of the second data signal in response to the determination that the first transceiver chain is to receive the first data signal.

Align transmissions for SBS

Methods, systems, and devices are described for power conservation in a wireless communications system. In embodiments, power conservation may be achieved by adaptively controlling power modes of a wireless communication device, using a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) value as a factor for guidance. According to one aspect, the device may be in a reception mode. While in a first power mode, the device may receive control information for incoming data that is being transmitted via a transmission frame. The control information may be located in a first portion of the frame with the data following in a second portion of the frame. The control information may include or otherwise indicate an MCS value corresponding to the MCS applied to the incoming data. Based on the MCS value, the device may be adaptively switched to a second power mode for receiving the incoming data.

Adaptive control of RF low power modes in a multi-rate wireless system using MCS value

Beacon-poll frames are transmitted from a station (STA) to a wireless AP in an opportunistic manner. In response to receiving a beacon-poll frame, the wireless AP transmits a unicast beacon frame to the STA, thereby eliminating the need for the STA to periodically wake up to receive broadcast beacon frames from the AP. The wireless AP may transmit the unicast beacon frame at a higher speed than a conventional broadcast beacon frame. As a result, the time that the STA must be awake to receive the unicast beacon frame is significantly less than the time that the STA must be awake to receive a conventional broadcast beacon frame, thereby resulting in significant power savings within the STA. The wireless AP may aggregate downlink (DL) data packets to be transmitted to the STA with the unicast beacon frame, resulting in further power savings within the STA.

Polling beacon

Methods, systems, and devices are described for power conservation in a wireless communications system. In embodiments, power conservation may be achieved by adaptively controlling power modes of a wireless communication device, and implementing lower power modes with various modes of the device. According to one aspect, the mode of the device may be a beacon monitoring mode or a delivery traffic indication message (DTIM) mode. In such a mode, the device may receive a portion of a beacon in a first power mode. The device may transition to a second, different (e.g., higher) power mode using information contained in the received portion of the beacon as guidance.

Adaptive control of RF low power modes in a multi-rate wireless system using device mode

A system and method are disclosed that may allow a STA to request one or more non-associated APs to initiate channel sounding operations with the STA. In response to the request, a number of the non-associated APs may send one or more NDPs to the STA. The STA may use the received NDPs to determine a goodput value for each of the number of non-associated APs. The STA may then use the determined goodput values to select one of the number of non-associated APs with which to associate. Thereafter, the STA may initiate an association operation with the selected AP.

Method and apparatus for initiating channel sounding with unassociated access points

One feature provides a method for a client node to establish a session key with a group node by obtaining an epoch identity value associated with a current epoch, wherein obtaining the epoch identity value includes one of computing the epoch identity value based on a node real time or negotiating the epoch identity value with the group node, computing a restricted key using a shared secret key, the epoch identity value, and a group node identity associated with the group node, and executing a session key establishment protocol with the group node to derive the session key using the restricted key as a master key in the session key establishment protocol. The session key may be established between the group node and the client node even though communications between the group node and the central node is only intermittently available during the current epoch.

Method and apparatus for virtual pairing with a group of semi-connected devices

Systems and methods for controlling a delay associated with paging a remote device. In one implementation, a paging device arranges page operations such that if one of two consecutive page scans performed by a remote device occurs during a response scan, the other page scan occurs during the transmission of a page. In another implementation, a device scanning for a page arranges page scans such that if one of two consecutive page scans occurs during a page response scan, the other page scan occurs during the transmission of a page. In another implementation, a device scanning for a page performs a series of sets of separate page scans, wherein the time interval between two of separate scans in a set is less than the time interval between adjacent sets. The page scans in a set are configured to ensure that one of them occurs during the transmission of a page.
