The present disclosure relates to data transmission methods, systems, and apparatuses. In one example method, a first device sends first information of a first data block to a second device. The second device searches, based on the first information, a first index for a second data block similar to the first data block, and sends second information of the second data block to the first device. The first device locally obtains, based on the second information, a reference block that is the same as the second data block, compresses a difference part of the first data block relative to the reference block to obtain first compressed information, and sends the first compressed information to the second device. The second device obtains the first data block based on the first compressed information and the second data block.

Data transmission method and system, apparatus, device, and medium

In one example method, a server obtains compressed data, where the compressed data includes at least a first part and a second part, and where the compressed data is sorted based on popularity values of parts of the compressed data, and a popularity value of a part of the compressed data is greater than a popularity value of a subsequent part of the compressed data. The server decompresses the first part, and decompresses the second part after decompressing the first part, where a popularity value of the first part is greater than a popularity value of the second part.

Data processing method and apparatus

A capacity adjustment method applied to a storage system and a related apparatus are provided. The method includes: analyzing cold and hot attributes of data stored in the storage system, to obtain an amount of hot data and an amount of cold data in the data; determining, based on the amount of hot data and the amount of cold data, a capacity of a cache required by the storage system and a capacity of a persistent storage required by the storage system, where the cache required by the storage system comes from a first storage medium set, and the persistent storage required by the storage system comes from a second storage medium set; and adjusting, based on the capacity of the cache and the capacity of the persistent storage, a purpose of a storage medium comprised in the storage system.

A data reduction method and apparatus are provided to improve data reduction performance. In the method a storage device obtains a first service type of first data stored in a first logical unit. The storage device processes the first data based on a first data reduction manner that matches the first service type. The storage device obtains a second service type of second data stored in a second logical unit. The second service type is different from the first service type. The storage device processes the second data based on a second data reduction manner that matches the second service type. The first data reduction manner includes data compression and/or data deduplication. The second data reduction manner includes data compression and/or data deduplication. The first data reduction manner is different from the second data reduction manner.
