The present disclosure provides an analyte sensor for use in detecting various analytes. In certain embodiments, an analyte-responsive active area of a presently disclosed analyte sensor includes two or more enzyme systems for detecting the analyte. The present disclosure further provides methods for detecting various analytes using the disclosed analyte sensors.

Analyte sensors and methods of use thereof

Analyte sensors are being increasingly employed for monitoring various analytes in vivo. Analyte sensors may feature enhancements to address signals obtained from interferent species. Some analyte sensors may comprise a working electrode comprising an active area disposed thereon and electrode asperities laser planed therefrom. Some analyte sensors may comprise an interferent-reactant species incorporated therewith. Some analyte sensors may comprise an interferent scrubbing electrode. Combinations of these enhancements may additionally be employed.

Analyte sensors featuring enhancements for decreasing interferent signal

The present disclosure provides analyte sensors including one or more NAD(P)-dependent enzymes and an internal supply of NAD(P) for the detection of an analyte. The present disclosure further provides methods of using such analyte sensors for detecting one or more analytes present in a biological sample of a subject, and methods of manufacturing said analyte sensors.

The present disclosure provides an analyte sensor for use in detecting aspartate and/or asparagine. In certain embodiments, an aspartate-responsive active site of a presently disclosed analyte sensor includes an aspartate oxidase disposed upon a surface of a working electrode. In certain embodiments, an asparagine-responsive active site of a presently disclosed analyte sensor includes an enzyme system comprising an aspartate oxidase and an asparaginase disposed upon a surface of a working electrode. Example biosensor devices having wake-up batteries and associated methods are disclosed. One example device includes a biosensor that has a first electrode for insertion into a subcutaneous layer beneath a patient's skin, and a second electrode coupled to the first electrode for insertion into the subcutaneous layer, and a first battery to apply a voltage across the first and second electrodes, the first battery at least partially electrically decoupled from the electrodes. The device also includes a second battery having an anode material coupled to the first electrode for insertion into the subcutaneous layer, and a portion of the second electrode. The second battery is activatable upon immersion in an electrolytic fluid. The device also includes a wake-up circuit to receive a signal from the second battery and, in response, to electrically couple the first battery to the first and second electrodes to activate the biosensor.

The present disclosure provides an analyte sensor for use in detecting potassium. In certain embodiments, an analyte sensor of the present disclosure includes at least two asparagine-responsive active areas, where each asparagine-responsive active area includes an asparaginase that exhibits a particular potassium dependency. The display could be operated on a very low power budget, e.g., the display could be operated intermittently.
