A computer that includes a processor and a memory can determine a final trajectory for a vehicle by determining a candidate trajectory of a first object based on a detected second object. The candidate trajectory can be input to a reachable polyhedral marching processor to determine dynamic occupancy polyhedrals based on a shape of the candidate trajectory. A reachable tube can be determined based on combining the dynamic occupancy polyhedrals and the final trajectory can be determined based on the reachable tube avoiding the detected second object.

Dynamic bounding box

A system, such as for a fuel cell electric vehicle, includes a fuel cell stack (FCS) and a controller. The FCS is configured to provide, such as for vehicle propulsion, a stack power commensurate with a stack power request. The stack power is a product of a stack current of the FCS and a stack voltage of the FCS. The controller is configured to, upon the stack voltage meeting a predetermined threshold, control the FCS to increase the stack current to cause the FCS to provide an increased stack power commensurate with an increased stack power request.

Systems and methods of managing the voltage of fuel cells during no-load or low load events are disclosed. The systems may employ one or more valves such as an inlet and outlet valve for metering the fuel (e.g., hydrogen) and/or oxidant (e.g., oxygen) provided to the fuel cell. The voltage or voltage rise may be limited by starving the fuel cell of, for example, oxygen. A controller may be employed for controlling the one or more valves during a no-load or low load event such as start-up, idling, or stopping.

Cell voltage control through oxygen starvation for fuel cell systems

A vehicle includes a fuel cell, an inlet valve, a purge valve, and a controller. The fuel cell has an anode side configured to receive hydrogen. The inlet valve is configured to open to deliver the hydrogen to the anode side. The purge valve is configured to open to purge water and nitrogen from the anode side. The controller is programmed to, operate the inlet valve to inject hydrogen into the anode side via opening the inlet valve followed by closing the inlet valve. The controller is further programmed to, in response to a concentration of the hydrogen in the anode side being less than threshold, open the purge valve to purge water and nitrogen from the anode side.

Vehicle fuel cell purging system

A vehicle includes a fuel cell having an air inlet port and an air outlet port and an air supply system having a compressor connected in fluid communication with the inlet port and a throttle valve connected in fluid communication with the outlet port. A controller is programmed to change a position of the throttle valve based on a target mass air flow, a measured mass air flow, a measured pressure, and the position of the throttle valve.

Fuel cell control system for vehicles

An automotive fuel cell stack includes anodes and cathodes, and a controller that, after receiving data indicating that load current demand is within a first pre-determined range, modulates a flow rate of air to the cathodes between zero and a pre-determined value until a cell output voltage achieves a value falling within a second pre-determined range greater than zero.
