A particulate matter sensor device comprising an enclosure () that comprises a flow inlet (), a flow outlet () and a flow channel () extending therebetween, a radiation source for emitting radiation into the flow channel () for interaction of the radiation with the particulate matter in the flow () of an aerosol sample when guided through the flow channel (), a radiation detector () for detecting at least part of said radiation after interaction with the particulate matter. The sensor device comprises a flow modifying device () arranged upstream of the radiation detector () and/or of the radiation source () for modifying the flow () for reducing particulate matter precipitation onto the radiation detector () and/or onto the radiation source () and/or the channel wall sections in close proximity to the detector () and/or source (). The invention also relates to a method of determining parameters of particulate matter in an aerosol sample by using such a particulate matter sensor device.

Particulate matter sensor device

A particulate matter sensor device comprises an enclosure () defining a flow channel (), a radiation source () for emitting radiation into the flow channel for interaction of the radiation with particulate matter in an aerosol sample in the flow channel, and a radiation detector () for detecting at least part of said radiation after interaction with the particulate matter. The sensor device comprises a flow modifying device () arranged upstream of the radiation detector and/or radiation source so as to reduce particulate matter precipitation onto the radiation detector, the radiation source and/or the channel wall sections in their proximity. The invention also relates to a method of determining parameters of particulate matter in an aerosol sample by using such a particulate matter sensor device.

An integrated chemical sensor chip comprises on or integrated in a common substrate a chemically sensitive layer and a heater heating the sensitive layer. In addition, a memory is provided for the storage of a measurement routine, the measurement routine comprising instructions defining a heating process over time and instructions defining one or more measurement points in time. An I/O interface is provided for receiving a trigger for the measurement routine and for supplying a result of the measurement routine. An engine controls the heater and measures a resistance of the sensitive layer according the instructions of the measurement routine.

Integrated chemical sensor chip

Integrated circuit () comprising several different voltage rails (Vto V) and an on-chip ESD protection circuit. The ESD protection circuit comprises at least one group () of ESD clamp devices (C-C). The ESD clamp devices (C-C) are arranged in a ladder-configuration. This ladder-configuration is characterized in that there is one of the ESD clamp devices interposed between each of the power rails (Vto V) and the respective power rail having a next lower voltage. Due to this arrangement an ESD current path is defined between each one of the power rails and the power rail having the next lower voltage. The ESD clamp devices (C-C) are off under normal power operation of the integrated circuit ().

Path sharing high-voltage ESD protection using distributed low-voltage clamps

The digital electronic circuit () includes a logic cell () for processing data () , a flip-flop () for storing data () processed in the logic cell (), a power supply (), and a clock () for triggering the flip-flop () . The logic cell () is disconnected from the power supply () when the clock () is not active, as it is not needed for memorizing of the flip-flop states, and connected with the power supply () when the clock () is enabled. For switching the power supply, a switch () switched by the clock enable () is arranged between the logic cell () and the power supply (). Such a simple additional switch () occupies only a relatively small area on the chip, but permits a drastic reduction by about 90% of the leakage currents. The circuit () is especially design and may be used for instance in mobile telecommunication devices.
