A computer includes a processor and a memory storing instructions executable by the processor to receive data indicating a plurality of tasks to be performed at a site by a plurality of electric machines, receive charge statuses of the electric machines and of a plurality of first electric vehicles at the site, and generate an ordered allocation of a plurality of charging operations for the electric machines and first electric vehicles based on the plurality of tasks and on the charge statuses. The charging operations include charging at least one of the electric machines or first electric vehicles from a second electric vehicle with charge ports that is scheduled to visit the site from offsite.

Collective vehicle power management

A vehicle terminal holder assembly according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, an electronic latch configured to hold a closure assembly in a latched position, and a vehicle body structure. The terminal holder assembly further includes a terminal holder that can be accessed through an aperture in the vehicle body structure and moved to a disengaged position relative to the vehicle body structure through the aperture. At least one terminal is held by the terminal holder. The at least one terminal is operatively coupled to the electronic latch when the terminal holder is in the disengaged position.

Upon identifying an authorized user approaching a vehicle, vehicle locks are controlled to permit the authorized user to access an authorized area based on a user authorization. Permitted vehicle features within the authorized area for the authorized user are identified based on the user authorization. Upon receiving a user input selecting one permitted vehicle feature, the selected permitted vehicle feature is actuated based on determining that a state of charge of a battery is above a charge threshold. Upon determining that the state of charge of the battery decreases below the charge threshold, actuation of the selected permitted vehicle feature is stopped. Then an engine is controlled to charge the battery based on the user authorization.

Vehicle power management

A charge level of a sensor battery providing power to a sensor in a vehicle is determined. A charge depletion of the sensor battery is determined based on the charge level. A recharge rate to recharge the sensor battery is determined based on a time elapsed on a previously traveled path, a current charge level, and the charge depletion. Upon activation of the vehicle, one or both of a propulsion or a vehicle battery is actuated to recharge the sensor battery at the recharge rate.

Vehicle sensor operation

A front end structure of a vehicle is disclosed and includes a housing having a fluid reservoir portion, a fan shroud portion, a back face, a bolster portion, a first air passage communicating airflow to an air intake system, and a second air passage in communication with a higher pressure airflow. A fan assembly is mounted within the fan shroud portion and a radiator mounted to the back face of the housing. A battery compartment is in communication with airflow from the second air passage for maintain battery temperature within a predefined range. A headlight also receives an airflow to actively remove moisture from an inner cavity. A method of assembling a front end structure is also disclosed.

Structural battery and headlamp cooling

A computer includes a processor and a memory storing instructions executable by the processor to instruct a first sensor to run at a scanning rate; in response to a trigger event, reduce the scanning rate; in response to receiving data from the first sensor indicating a newly present object, turn on a second sensor; and then record data from the second sensor. The second sensor has a higher power draw than the first sensor.

Onboard engine control for vehicles is disclosed herein. An example method includes determining a moving average of duty cycle periods for a power component of a vehicle for recent power load events, each of the duty cycle periods having both on-time portions and off-time portions; and when the on-time portions of the moving average are above a predetermined percentage, an engine of the vehicle remains in an on-state condition, further wherein when a current off-time period of the power component exceeds a value equal to a predetermined multiplier applied to the off-time portions, the engine is placed in an off-state condition.

A vehicle including a refrigerated compartment having a chamber and a cooling system for cooling the chamber and methods of controlling the cooling system is provided. The vehicle includes a controller that controls a supply of power from a battery of the vehicle to the cooling system based on at least one output signal received from a vehicle component.

The systems and methods disclosed herein are directed to an autonomous vehicle food locker system that may include environmentally controlled storage compartments for storing and/or transporting perishable food items to be delivered to end consumers. The storage compartments may provide ultraviolet light controls and surfaces that provide sanitized food storage areas for a delivery vehicle. Computing processor(s) may be configured for determining a sanitization procedure for sanitizing the interior portion of the food storage locker based on sensor information received from internal and external sensors, video feeds, photographs, and other information. The processor(s) may determine one or more sanitation characteristics that can indicate or inform cleanliness of the interior portion of the food storage locker, and perform automated sanitization procedures that can include activating a chemical layer disposed on the interior portion of the food storage locker. The system may also maintain a digital record documenting the delivery process.

Food locker sanitation system for autonomous vehicles

A system for a vehicle includes an input device configured to send an activation signal responsive to an input to start the vehicle. The system further includes a vehicle body controller, programmed to, responsive to the input and a lack of presence of a phone operating as a key, send an activation signal to activate a power source within a cabin of the vehicle for up to a predefined time period since a last vehicle start.

Method and system for activating in-vehicle power source

This disclosure is directed to supercapacitor systems for supporting relatively high power transient electrical loads within vehicles. An exemplary supercapacitor system includes a mounting assembly and a supercapacitor housed within the mounting assembly. The mounting assembly may be employed to mount the supercapacitor system within a vehicle, such as within a cowl assembly or cargo space of the vehicle. The mounting assembly may include multiple panels. At least one of the multiple panels may be made of a thermally conductive polymer, and at least one other panel of the multiple panels may be made of a polymer that is reinforced by a structural foam.

Supercapacitor mounting assemblies and vehicle mounting locations

An AC inverter in a vehicle operates using a 24 V input when a vehicle powertrain is in a parked/idling state. A first 12 V battery is connected with a first bus segment. A second 12 V battery is connected with a second bus segment. A switch module selectably interconnects the first and second bus segments. In a nominal 12 V state, the batteries are connected in parallel from the bus segments to ground. In a dual voltage state, the batteries are connected in series so the first bus segment is at 12 V and the second bus segment is at 24 V. A first alternator driven by the powertrain provides a regulated voltage to the second bus segment, wherein the regulated voltage corresponds to 12 V when the switch module is in the nominal state and corresponds to 24 V when the switch module is in the dual voltage state.

The present disclosure relates to an apparatus that includes a vehicle battery terminal having a first terminal and a second terminal. The apparatus also includes a bracket having a first region aligned with the first terminal and a second terminal region aligned with the second terminal. The first and second regions space apart the first terminal and the second terminal. The apparatus also includes a post and a shield. The post extends from the bracket to partially surround the first terminal. The shield has a cover plate and a frame extending outwardly from the cover plate. The frame is provided to protect the first terminal and the second terminal.
