Some embodiments include methods, and systems of machining using a beam of photons. In some embodiments, a machining method to remove material in a machined region may include reducing transparency of the region to at least a predefined wavelength by irradiating the region with a first beam of photons to induce generation of free electrons in the region; and machining the region with a second beam of photons having the predefined wavelength. Method, apparatus and system for reducing or preventing polarization in semiconductor radiation detectors for medical imaging. For example, an apparatus includes a semiconductor with electrodes coupled thereto, configured to generate an electrical signal in the electrodes in response to absorption of ionizing radiation in the semiconductor, wherein the absorption of the ionizing radiation generates a space charge in the semiconductor; and an infra-red (IR) generator configured to generate IR radiation of a selectable wavelength, the selectable wavelength being chosen so as to at least partially reduce an effect of the space charge on the electrical signal.

Method, apparatus, and system of reducing polarization in radiation detectors

Apparatus for detecting radiation emitted from a number of volume elements of a body. The apparatus includes a first plurality of detector elements, each detector element being configured to output signals indicative of an intensity of radiation that is incident thereon. The apparatus also includes a first plurality of adjustable collimator channels, each adjustable collimator channel being associated with and being positioned between a respective detector element and the body, each adjustable collimator channel having a second plurality of dimensional configurations defining respective different sets of the volume elements from which emitted radiation impinges on the respective detector element. A processor computes a radiation intensity from at least a portion of the volume elements in response to the signals output by the detector elements in at least two of the dimensional configurations of the adjustable collimator channels.

Variable collimation in radiation detection

Some embodiments include methods, devices and systems of radiation detection by asynchronous demultiplexing. In some embodiments, an apparatus to read a plurality of electrical signals received from an electrode may include two or more electrical signal readers, wherein each of the signal readers is individually switchable between a coupled state in which an input of the signal reader is coupled to the electrode, and a decoupled state in which the input is decoupled from the electrode; and a controller to detect the plurality of electrical signals, to selectively switch the two or more signal readers to the coupled state to receive at least one sequence of two or more of the detected electrical signals, respectively, and to selectively activate the two or more signal readers to process the two or more detected electrical signals, respectively. Method, apparatus, and system of electric-signal detection by asynchronous demultiplexing

This invention discloses an electrical circuit inspection system including an optical subsystem for optically inspecting an electrical circuit and providing an inspection output identifying more than two different types of regions and an analysis subsystem for analyzing the inspection output, the analyzing including comparing the inspection output with a computer file reference identifying more than two different types of regions. A method for inspecting an electrical circuit inspection is also disclosed.
