A device for removing unwanted hair, including a hair-plucking assembly and a vibrating assembly adjacent the hair-plucking assembly, wherein the device removes hair by uprooting it while vibrating the skin to minimize discomfort.

A shower head including a housing, a turbine and a fluid exit body in operative engagement therewith, such that a fluid flow through the turbine causes rotation thereof and periodic motion of the fluid exit body. The fluid exit body is in a tilted position in the housing and the periodic motion consists of a simultaneous rotational travel of the fluid exit body around the axis of the turbine and an oscillatory, rocking movement of the fluid exit body in the housing.

Apparatus for treating hair including a handle; hair separation apparatus having a generally elongate base portion associated with the handle, and a plurality of parallel teeth attached to the base apparatus, and extending transversely therefrom, each tooth having a free end; and drive apparatus for oscillating the plurality of teeth at a frequency of no less than about 3,000 cycles per minute and for limiting a stroke of the free end of each the tooth to a length of no greater than approximately 8 mm, and for bringing the plurality of teeth into repeated engagement with a group of hairs attached to skin, thereby to ease passage of the hair separation apparatus through the group of hairs at a level of discomfort tolerable to a user.

Hair treatment apparatus and method

A parking system for vehicles includes a vehicle support platform adapted to support a vehicle over a parking area and having a rear end portion permitting travel of a vehicle thereacross, a front end portion, and side portions extending longitudinally between the rear and front end portions; and support apparatus for the platform located at a predetermined end portion of the parking area and adapted to engage the platform front end portion only. The support apparatus also includes lifting apparatus which is operative to cause an initial pivoting of the platform about the rear end portion such that the front end portion of the platform becomes elevated above the rear end portion, and which is also operative to cause an additional pivoting of the platform about the front end portion to elevate the rear end portion of the platform relative to the front end portion, thereby bringing the platform into a raised position and provide vertical clearance between the platform and the parking area that is sufficient to enable entry of a vehicle beneath the platform. The support apparatus supports the platform in the raised position, such that the front end portion of the platform is in vertical registration with the forward-most portion of the predetermined end portion of the parking area whereat the support apparatus is located; and the lifting apparatus is also operative to lower the platform to a lowered position whereat the rear end portion thereof is vertically adjacent to a ground surface, to allow travel of a vehicle between the platform and the ground surface.

Apparatus for treating hair including a handle, hair separation apparatus associated with the handle and extending longitudinally along an axis, apparatus for oscillating the hair separation apparatus about the axis so as to bring the hair separation apparatus into repeated engagement with a group of hairs so as to ease passage of the separation apparatus therethrough, and apparatus for preventing the hair separation apparatus from striking a portion of skin to which the hairs are attached. The hair separation apparatus is oscillated about the axis at a relatively high frequency, of, typically, greater than 4,000 cycles per minute and preferably greater than 10,000 cycles per minute, and at a relatively small amplitude, of, typically, no larger than about 5.degree. and, preferably, no larger than 2.degree.. A method of delousing hair includes the steps of placing hair separation apparatus in a group of hairs and oscillating the hair separation apparatus at high frequency, so as to bring the hair separation apparatus into repeated engagement with the group of hairs in a direction generally transverse to the length of the hairs, thereby also bringing the hair separation apparatus into repeated engagement with lice and lice eggs located among the hairs, so as to cause fatal injury to the lice and lice eggs.
