An electrical switch is disclosed, especially an electrical circuit breaker, including an overcurrent tripping device which, in the event of an overcurrent situation, switches off the flow of current through the switch; and a thermal tripping device which, in the event of a thermal overload, switches off the flow of current through the switch. In at least one embodiment, the overcurrent tripping device includes a first shaft which is disposed such that, in the event of an overcurrent situation, it is rotated from a first position into a second position and thereby indicates the overcurrent situation; and the thermal tripping device includes a second shaft which is disposed such that, it is rotated in the event of a thermal overload and is also rotated as well in the event of a rotation of the first shaft and when rotated initiates a switching-off of the switch.

Electrical switch

An overcurrent tripping device of an electrical switch for interrupting a current flow in an electrical circuit in the event of the occurrence of an overload or a short circuit is disclosed. In an embodiment, the overcurrent tripping device includes a thermal tripping device and a magnetic tripping device. A magnetic tripping device is disclosed which, in an embodiment, includes at least one yoke element for generating a magnetic field, an armature element responding to the magnetic field, and a spring element. The armature element is arranged on an armature carrier element, separated from the yoke element, by way of a first armature element end and is mounted pivotably about an armature element rotation axis. In addition, an electrical switch including an overcurrent tripping device, and a method for calibrating magnetic tripping of a magnetic tripping device of an electrical switch, are disclosed.

Embodiments of the present invention relate to a knob element and a slide element of an adjusting apparatus, to an adjusting apparatus, and to a method for adjusting a position of a thermal tripping shaft as well as to a thermal magnetic trip unit and an electrical switch for interrupting a current flow of an electric current in an electrical circuit in the event of the occurrence of a tripping event, having the adjusting apparatus, which has a rotatably mounted knob element and a tangentially movably mounted slide element. In at least one embodiment, the knob element and the slide element are operatively connected in such a way that the rotary movement of the knob element becomes a tangential movement of the slide element.

An electrical switch, in particular an electrical circuit breaker, is disclosed including an overcurrent trip device which cuts off the flow of current through the switch in the event of an overcurrent situation. In at least one embodiment, a partial current of the current flowing through the electrical switch flows through a tripping arrangement of the overcurrent trip device and at least one further partial current of the current flowing through the electrical switch is conducted past the tripping arrangement.

A test button is disclosed for an electrical switching device, especially for a circuit breaker; and an electrical switching device is disclosed, especially a circuit breaker, with a test button. The test button is at least one embodiment is embodied for actuation of a tripping mechanism of the electrical switching device. In this case, the test button actuates the tripping mechanism on the one hand if the test button is actuated manually and on the other hand if a cover element of the electrical switching device is opened. The actuation of the tripping mechanism by way of the test button ensures that the electrical switching device cannot be switched on or tripped respectively.
