A system for monitoring fetal health data and mother health data comprises a belly-covering garment that is configured to at least partially cover a belly and to hold one or more sensor modules directly adjacent to the belly. One or more sensor modules disposed within the belly-covering garment. The one or more sensor modules comprise a pulse-oximeter sensor that gathers pulse oximetry data from the mother through contact with the belly. The one or more sensor modules also comprise an accelerometer sensor that gathers movement data from the mother. Additionally, the one or more sensor modules comprise a fetal sensor that gathers health data from a fetus within the belly.

Fetal health data monitoring

A multi-purpose biometric sensor includes both a transmissive topology and reflective topology for measuring biometric information. The multi-purpose biometric sensor is configured to allow for dynamically switching between the transmissive topology and the reflective topology based on user input or a current measuring scenario. The multi-purpose biometric sensor includes multiple types of light emitting sources and is further configured to dynamically switch between different types of light emitting sources based on user input or a current measuring scenario. The multi-purpose biometric sensor is further configured to measure multiple biometric signals from a single sensor.

A computer system for simultaneously sampling multiple light channels is configured to emit a first pulse-oximetry light signal from a first light source and to emit a second pulse-oximetry light signal from a second light source. The computer system then captures a combined pulse-oximetry signal from both the first pulse-oximetry light signal and the second pulse-oximetry light signal simultaneously at a photoreceptor sensor. The computer system identifies information within the combined pulse-oximetry signal, wherein the first light source and the second light source capture different attributes of the information.

A safety shut-off system and method are provided for eliminating power to a load in the event of smoke detection. The system may comprise a device located at the appliance for detecting a signal from a smoke detector, and cutting power to the appliance only when the appliance is in use. The device may be synchronized with any standard smoke alarm signal to reduce the number of false positive shut-offs. The system may also comprise a smoke alarm hard-wired to a circuit breaker, for shutting off power to all appliances on a particular breaker upon receipt of a signal from the smoke alarm, and only when the appliances on the breaker are in use. The system may also have the ability to shut off one breaker, multiple breakers, or all breakers at different time increments to actively prevent and reduce the damages caused by fires.

Safety shut-off device and method of use

An isolation apparatus includes isolation circuitry that includes multiple semiconductor switches arranged electrically in parallel to isolate, from an electrical system, a plurality of battery cells of a battery capable of providing high levels of current. The apparatus includes a microcontroller operatively coupled to the isolation circuitry, wherein the battery cells are isolated from the electrical system to which the battery is connected when the microcontroller switches off the multiple semiconductor switches. The apparatus provides cell-balancing, circuit isolation, trace matching, split columns, heat-tied use of materials and slow-speed switching to provide safety through isolation, equalization and stress reduction.
