Systems and methods for rendering three-dimensional (3D) scenes having improved visual characteristics from a pair of 2D images having different viewpoints. The 3D scene is created by obtaining a first two-dimensional (2D) image of a scene object from a first viewpoint, obtaining a second 2D image of the scene object from a second viewpoint that is different than the first viewpoint, creating a depth map from the first and second 2D images, creating a 3D scene from the depth map and the first and second 2D images, detecting regions of the initial 3D scene with incomplete image information, reconstructing the detected regions of the 3D scene, determining replacement information and modify the reconstructed regions, and rendering the 3D scene with the modified reconstructed regions from a plurality of viewpoints.

According to an example, data pertaining to a plurality of entities recommended for a user may be accessed, in which the data identifies relationships between the plurality of entities with respect to each other. In addition, a relevance map for the user that displays graphical representations of the plurality of entities over a substantially optimized use of space available for display of the graphical representations in the relevance map may be generated, in which the graphical representations of the plurality of entities are arranged in the relevance map according to a predetermined arrangement scheme.

Displaying recommended entities in a relevance map

A malfunction diagnosis system of a printer is provided. A printer controller receives malfunction-related input by the user from an input device, which user input specifies a print defect perceptible to the user. It generates image data representing a test print job in response to the user input specifying the perceptible print defect, and forwards the test print job image data to the printing unit to produce a corresponding test printout. Measurement data output from a sensing device as measured on the test printout is received and analyzed, and information indicative of a cause for the print defect based on the analyzed measurement data output from the sensing device is output.
