An implant extractor that includes an elongated body having a proximal end for attachment to an extraction device, a first arm extending from the elongated body, and a second arm pivotably connected to the first arm. The second arm includes a moment arm for generating a torque about a distal end of the second arm. The implant extractor further includes a force applicator operatively connected to the first arm and the moment arm to apply a force to one or more of the first and second arms.

A trephine is provided. The trephine includes a hole saw sized to accommodate an implant, the hole saw having: a cylindrical body having a proximal end, a distal end and an outer surface, a plurality of circumferentially spaced cutting teeth at the distal end of the cylindrical body, and a plurality of helical grooves on the outer surface of the cylindrical body; and a quick connect coupled to the proximal end of the cylindrical body for releasably connecting to a cooperating quick connector of a tool.

Trephine

An implant extractor for use in orthopedic surgeries. The implant extractor provides a line of force substantially parallel to an implant to be extracted. The implant extractor includes a curved body having a curved jaw track configured to slidingly receive a correspondingly curved jaw for clamping a trunnion of an implant, e.g., a hip stem implant. A push rod urges the curved jaw into clamping engagement with the trunnion under the influence of a cam handle having a continuously curved cam surface.

Surgical blade

A cutter for cutting an implant is provided. The cutter includes a gearbox; a primary milling bit, a secondary milling bit and a lead screw operatively coupled to the gearbox; an input coupling coupled rigidly to the primary milling bit; and an implant coupler coupled rigidly to the lead screw, wherein the gearbox is operable to translate with respect to the lead screw and to drive the secondary milling bit in response to a driving force applied to the input coupling.

Dual rod implant cutter

A tool drive assembly including a flexible drive shaft and a guide. The flexible drive shaft includes a proximal end structured to engage a driver for rotating the flexible drive shaft, and a distal end opposite the proximal end. The guide includes a handle, a shaft extending from the handle, and a hub assembly at a distal end of the shaft. The hub assembly includes a housing, and a hub rotatably mounted within the housing. The hub includes an input connection structured to attach to the distal end of the flexible drive shaft, and an output connection structured to attach to a working tool. The tool drive assembly enables easy manipulation and driving of a working tool to achieve optimum positioning and effectiveness of the working tool.

A surgical extractor that includes a first arm and a second arm, a linkage assembly connected to the first and second arms, and a driven shaft operatively engaged with the linkage assembly for moving the linkage assembly between first and second positions. The surgical extractor further includes a tensioning shaft engageable with the driven shaft for moving the driven shaft relative to the linkage assembly.

Surgical extractor

A surgical extractor including first and second arms connected to first and second implant-engageable jaws. The first and second arms are connected by first and third links to a stationary screw jack nut and by second and fourth links to a moveable screw jack nut. A driven shaft is rotatably received in the stationary screw jack nut and threadedly received in the moveable screw jack nut, and a drive shaft rotatably drives the driven shaft. Rotation of the drive shaft in a first direction separates the first and second arms and jaws in order to receive an implant. Rotation of the drive shaft in a second direction closes the first and second arms and jaws in order to clamp an implant. A handle assembly engages the drive shaft in order to drive the drive shaft and disengages from the drive shaft to exert a removal force on an implant.

Hub for a surgical blade

A handle assembly is disclosed for firmly holding a surgical tool. The handle assembly comprises a handle and a locking mechanism attached to the handle. The locking mechanism includes a locking ring, a collet, and a compressible locking pin engageable with the locking ring and collet. The locking ring is moveable between first and second positions relative to the handle. The first position is an unlocked position whereby the locking pin is in a decompressed state relative to the locking ring and the collet. In the first position, a surgical tool may be inserted and withdrawn from the collet of the locking mechanism. The second position is a locked position whereby the locking pin is in a compressed state relative to the locking ring and the collet. In the second position, a surgical tool is anchored in the collet of the locking mechanism.
