Embodiments herein describe a deployment strategy where a vendor deployment system sends to each customer site the same binary that defines all the microservices offered by the vendor deployment system. That is, the vendor deployment system can build one binary image of its platform (which has all the microservices) that is deployed to every customer site. The vendor also provides a deployment descriptor that is used during runtime to activate the microservices intended for use at the customer site. In this manner, the vendor deployment system can generate a customized deployment without having to build a new binary by manipulating the data or flags in the deployment descriptor.

Systems and methods of identifying infinite call loops using custom tracking headers are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, a method is performed by a first instance of a microservice operated by a first network node in a distributed microservice system having instances of one or more microservices operated by network nodes with each instance having a data cache operable to share data between instances of that microservice. The method includes receiving an indication that includes a message to access data that may be available in a data cache of an instance of the microservice, the indication also including one or more tracking identifiers with each tracking identifier corresponding to an instance of the microservice that successively sends or receives the message so as to determine that the message corresponds to a same message previously sent or received by the same instance of the microservice.

Methods and systems providing synchronization of data in a distributed system using microservice architecture in servers, store controllers, terminals and related articles of manufacture

The disclosure provides a method of generating business rules for a retail system. Particularly, a computing device receives rule data from a user interface. The rule data comprises retail context information associated with a retail business operating the retail system. A business rule template is then generated based on the retail context information included in the rule data, and validated based on the retail context information and on sample business data. Validation may occur by conditionally performing one or more Point of Sale (POS) functions on the sample business data according to the retail context information. If valid, the business rule template is activated for use in the retail system.

The techniques include delivering an interface to a first downstream provider, where the interface includes a bean implementation format. Then performing at least one of: (i) receiving a provider level (POL) selection from the first downstream provider, where the POL selection corresponds to a POL stored in an extender, and delivering a first bean implementation to the first downstream provider based on the POL, and (ii) receiving a constructed bean implementation from the downstream provider, determining a POL of the downstream provider, and storing the constructed bean implementation in the extender at the determined POL.

Techniques for configuration management are provided. A plurality of configurations is received, where each of the plurality of configurations corresponds to a respective service and is associated with a first plan. The plurality of configurations is stored, in association with the first plan, without implementing the plurality of configurations. Upon receiving approval of the first plan, the first plan is implemented by, for each respective configuration of the plurality of configurations: identifying a respective corresponding service for the respective configuration and modifying a configuration of the respective corresponding service based on the respective configuration. Upon completing implementation of the first plan, each of the plurality of configurations is labeled with a production identifier.

According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a method is implemented by a server in a server cluster. A request received from a client includes a session identifier (ID) identifying a session between the client and the server, and a correlation ID that is linked to the request. If the correlation ID is not included in an individual server-specific session microcache for the session, the request is processed to determine a response, the response is added to the session microcache, and the response and an indication of the correlation ID are sent to the client. If the correlation ID and a response to the request are stored in the session microcache, the response and an indication of the correlation ID are re-sent to the client. The session ID and session microcache are transferred to another of the plurality of servers in the server cluster to continue the session.

A method and apparatus is provided for reconfiguring application comprising a plurality of base code components at startup. A control application first retrieves the plurality of base components responsive to receiving a command to execute the application program. Prior to beginning execution, however, the control application replaces a selected base code component with another code component, and then subsequently replaces that newly inserted code component with yet another code component. Whether any given code component is to be replaced at startup is determined based on an annotation included in the code components. Once the application program has been reconfigured to include the appropriate code components, the application program is executed.
