Identifying and visualizing geographic data includes obtaining a set of data including candidate geographic data elements. Metrics are determined based on two or more of: a best parent for the candidate geographic data elements; additional concepts associated with the candidate geographic data elements; and an average distance between the candidate geographic data elements. Then, the candidate geographic data elements are identified as geographic based on the metrics and a map is generated displaying the candidate geographic data elements identified as geographic.

Detection and visualization of geographic data

Dynamically generating a model for a report includes presenting a user with source data by a source application, wherein the source data is available for producing a report. Selections are received from the user indicating portions of the source data to potentially include in the report. In response to receiving the user selections, a computer system builder module generates an analytic processing model for the user selected portions of the source data.

Technology for generating a model in response to user selection of data

A technique for a visual search sets a transient mode on, gathers objects to form a pile of objects, wherein each object has a predefined portion visible, and determines whether a selector is over the predefined portion of an object in the pile of objects. Responsive to a determination that the selector is detected over the predefined portion of the object in the pile of objects, the object is presented in a foreground. It is determined whether the object in the foreground is selected to form a selected object. Responsive to a determination that the object in the foreground is selected to form a selected object, the pile of objects is restored to an original state with the selected object scrolled into view within the predefined display area.
