A ski structure has a core that can be provided with reinforcing elements and is provided with upper and lower covering elements. At least one cavity is provided in the core and has a terminal end that terminates in at least one of the upper surface and lower surface of the core. The ski structure cavity is covered by at least one of the upper and lower covering element and the edges of the ski. At least one block made of, for example, elastic, hyperelastic, or viscoelastic material is provided in the at least one cavity. The height of each block is preferably greater than 5 mm while the ratio between the height and the length of the block is preferably between 0.3 and 7.

Ski structure

A board for gliding on snow comprises, in a central part or support region, a device for mounting a boot binding. The device comprises at least two lower elements that are located inside the board and bear, either directly or indirectly, on the lower edge of the board. The device also comprises at least one connecting element that connects the lower elements to at least one upper element, and at least one upper element which is proximate to the upper wall of the board and forms a platform for mounting a boot binding.

A ski includes a running sole with a structural body comprising at least one upper reinforcement layer covered with an upper protective surface. In the region of the support face, an attached structure is fastened onto said upper surface at least in the rear part, that is, the zone intended to accommodate the heel binding which, in cooperation with a front toe stop, binds the boot of the skier. The heel binding is made from a sheet or plate of a viscoelastic material. The screws for fastening the anterior zone of the attached structure pass through the latter before being anchored in the upper reinforcement layer of the structural body. The screws for fastening the heel binding are anchored in the attached structure, above the sheet or plate of viscoelastic material. The attached structure is fastened in the posterior zone onto the structural body of the ski by means of the sheet or plate made of viscoelastic material.

Ski with improved profile

This invention relates to a board for sliding over snow, such as a ski, snow surf or the like, provided with at least one vibration damper (9, 10) made of visco-elastic material (3) and plate or other stress element (4). At least one of these dampers (2, 5) has a complex section, for example an upturned U, so that it partially follows different planes (7, 8, 9) of the zone of the structure (1) on which it is added.

A ski sole having a first section situated in the ski runner region and two other sections corresponding to the two ends of the ski. The first section is fabricated of a material having a greater hardness than that of the two other sections.

Ski sole

A mount is used in combination with a ski having a longitudinally extending upper surface, a ski boot, and at least one clamp for securing the boot to the upper surface. The mount comprises an element fixed to the ski, an element fixed to the clamp, and an adjustment mechanism interconnecting the elements for relative stepless displacement transversely of the ski and for fixing them relative to each other against relative movement. When the boot is held by individual toe and heel clamps, each of these clamps is associated with respective such elements and adjustment mechanism. The mechanism normally includes at least one micrometric screw and at least one rack meshing with the screw. The system can also allow the boot to pivot about an axis perpendicular to the upper ski surface relative to the ski.

System for mounting a ski binding on a ski

A vibration damper is used in combination with a ski having an upper surface, a turned up front end, a rear end, and a central ski binding on the upper surface. The damper is between 5 cm and 20 cm long and comprises a viscoelastic sheet flatly engaging the upper surface immediately behind the front end, immediately ahead of the rear end, or immediately ahead of the ski binding and a damper plate with a high modulus of elasticity overlying the viscoelastic sheet. The plate is secured atop the sheet on the upper ski surface. The damper is between 10% and 20% of the length of the ski from the rear end of the ski, between 65% and 75% of the length of the ski from the rear end, and/or between 85% and 97% of the length of the ski from the rear end. A 2 m ski normally has a distance of 180 cm between the rear end of the ski and the start of the front upturned end of the ski.

Vibration damper for ski

A tennis racket provided with a vibration damping device. The racket includes at least one pair of viscoelastic dampers, symmetric relative to a longitudinal axis of the racket and working in opposition. Each damper of the pair consists of a plate of viscoelastic material, whose one face is glued against the racket at a selected spot of the racket, and which includes on its other face a stress plate of rigid material. The selected spot corresponds to the antinode of a specific mode of vibration of the racket.

A vibration damper is used in combinataion with a ski having an upper surface, a turned up front end, a rear end, and a central ski binding on the upper surface. The damper is between 5 cm and 20 cm long and comprises a viscoelastic sheet flatly engaging the upper surface immediately behind the front end, immediately ahead of the rear end, or immediately ahead of the ski binding and a damper plate with a high modulus of elasticity overlying the viscoelastic sheet. The plate is secured atop the sheet on the upper ski surface. The damper is between 10% and 20% of the length of the ski from the rear end of the ski, between 65% and 75% of the length of the ski from the rear end, and/or between 85% and 97% of the length of the ski from the rear end. A 2 m ski normally has a distance of 180 cm between the rear end of the ski and the start of the front upturned end of the ski.

An alpine ski has an independent element forming the shovel and tip of the ski, this element being secured to the front end of the ski body which is provided with a slightly upwardly turned transverse edge abutting a shoulder upon a rear part of this element where it is attached to the ski.

A slalom ski includes in the structure of its body a stressed viscoelastic band extending from about the middle of its tread zone forward over a length equaling 15% to 30% that of the ski body.

Slalom ski with vibration damper

A ski which is provided internally with vibration-damping elements. According to the invention, at least two vibration-damping elements in the form of bands or strips of constrained visco-elastic material extend longitudinally within the ski and are spaced apart therein. The bands have lengths of 10 to 20% of the total length of the ski and a spacing which can also be equal to 10 to 20% of the total length of the ski. When the ski is a tour ski, e.g. for alpine touring or cross-country, three such bands may be provided, one at the spoon or point of the ski, one in the region of the binding and one at the heel of the ski. When the ski is for downhill or slalom skiing, two such bands are provided, one at the spoon or point and the other at the binding region.
