The body (4) of the hook (1) has a passage (6) for receiving a transverse bar, which passage terminates in an aperture (7) and extends throughout the length of the body. The hook (1) includes a curved strip portion (5) for retaining an osteosynthesis rod which is connected to the body (4) in a region of said aperture (7). The height of the aperture (7) exceeds the thickness of the bar. The strip portion (5) has a width substantially equal to the width of the body (4) and edge portions (9) of the passage (6) are so shaped as to define sliding ramps for the rod which are inclined toward the interior of the strip portion (5). The arrangement of the hook ensures a trapping of the rod which improves the safety of the device in use and reduces the overall size of the hook.

This device comprises two fixation elements (4), each consisting of a hook (4) designed so as to be able to cover a rigid transverse bar (3) in a sliding manner and equipped with means (9, 8) for locking on the bar (3); this hook is made up of a body (5) and at least one blade. The implant comprises a part (2) for anchorage in the bone and a body (3) for fixing on a rod (4), the body comprising two lateral branches (5) defining a passageway (6) which is open on each side of the body for receiving the rod, and a screw-threaded plug (8) adapted to be screwed between the branches; a strip (14), interposed between the plug and the rod, is fixed to a ring (15) with which it constitutes a pellet (16). The strip (14) is curved and defines a concave surface (14a) adapted to be applied against the surface of the rod. The curvature of the strip (14) permits clamping the rod (4) in position with a relatively small clamping pressure in that the forces are distributed, which improves resistance to alternating bending of the rod in the body (3) and resistance to fatigue.

An implant comprises a part intended for osseous anchoring and a body for fixation on a rod. The body has a channel opening out at a rear part of the body, delimiting two lateral branches and open on each side of the body so as to be able to receive the rod. The implant also comprises a threaded plug adapted so as to be able to be screwed in tappings formed on the inside walls of the two lateral branches in order to lock the rod in translation and in rotation. The implant includes a small plate for connection between the plug and the rod, which small plate is provided with a mechanism for fixing it to the branches of the body.

This vertebral implant (1) comprises an osseous anchoring element (2), a body (3) having a channel (4) designed to be passed through by a rod (5), and a first screw (9) for securing with the rod, screwed through a clamp (20) able to slide on the rod and to take up a position in the body; this implant comprises at least one second screw (12, 13) for blocking the rod (5), passing through the body (3) laterally to the first screw (9) and engaged in a tapped hole (12a, 13a) inclined relative to the axis (XX) of the said first screw, these two screws (9, 12 or 13) being situated essentially in a phane perpendicular to the axis (YY) of the channel (4) and of the rod (5). The size of this implant is smaller than that of the known clamp and lock implants, and it can be put into position more easily and more quickly by the surgeon.

This implant comprises a portion (1) intended for anchorage to bone and a body (2) for attachment to a rod (3); the body has a channel defining two side branches (4) and open on both sides of the body in order to be able to receive the rod (3); this implant contains a threaded plug (8), contrived so that it can be screwed into a female thread formed in the inner walls of the two branches (4) so that its two diametrically opposed edges bear on the rod (3), and the face of the plug (8) directed towards the rod (3) is equipped with means of gripping and attaching the plug to the latter, which can thus be clamped in translation and rotation. This arrangement considerably decreases the external bulkiness of the implant, and reduces the number of parts necessary, as well as the corresponding instrumentation.

The invention relates to a device for supporting the rachis comprising at least one pin and at least two anchoring members attached thereto. According to the invention, said device is characterized in that the pin is of constant cross-section throughout its length and presents a rough surface, and in that the anchoring members are provided with pressure means cooperating with said pin. The invention finds applications in the straightening and/or support of a rachis, especially in preparation for an arthrodesis.
