Provided is an induction heating method implemented in a device for heating a metal part, the device including magnetically coupled inductors. Oscillating circuits of the device have at least approximately the same resonance frequency, each inverter is controlled by a control unit to vary amplitude and phase of current passing through the corresponding inductor, the device also including a means for determining said current and an actual temperature profile of said part. The method includes: a) comparing said actual temperature profile with a reference temperature profile and calculating a reference power density profile; b) calculating target currents which the inverters must produce in order for the currents of the inductors to reach suitable target values; c) determining the currents passing through the inductors to compare said currents with said target values and determine correction current deviations, and sending correction instructions to said control units in accordance with said current deviations.

Induction heating method implemented in a device including magnetically coupled inductors

A treatment of a heater tube intended to be used in a pressurizer of the primary cooling system of a nuclear reactor. In particular, the heater tube comprises a heater housed in a substantially cylindrical sheath. The material of which this sheath is made is a work-hardened austenitic stainless steel. In particular, the external surface of the sheath is liable to undergo a stress corrosion during use of the heatertube. The method includes a heat treatment step, preferably using induction heating, in which the external surface of the sheath is heat-treated so as to recrystallize the material of the sheath at least on the surface thereof.

Treatment of a heater tube intended for a pressurizer of the primary cooling system of a nuclear reactor

A heating device for the electromagnetic induction heating of a metal strip traveling in a specified direction. The device includes at least one electric coil arranged opposite at least one of the large surfaces of the strip so as to heat the latter by transverse magnetic flux induction, each coil being associated with at least one magnetic circuit. Each circuit is divided into a plurality of magnetically independent bars arranged parallel to the direction of travel of the strip. The bars may moved toward or away one another thereby adapting to the width of the strip and distributing the magnetic flux across the width of the strip.
