A false wall () is backlit by a plurality of light sources () positioned behind same and including at least one taut translucent flexible sheet () anchored via the borders thereof, which are provided with elements () for anchoring to a frame (), the frame () including a wall rail () having headed profiles and including receiving members () capable of engaging with the anchoring elements () in order to hold the taut translucent flexible sheet (). The wall rail () includes lighting elements () which are invisible when the light sources () are operating, and which provide an afterglow when the light sources () are no longer operating.
