The invention concerns chemical compositions in the form of pellets which disintegrate quickly and efficiently in aqueous media and a method of producing the pellets. Such pellets comprise (a) at least one constituent with pharmaceutical, agrochemical, water treatment, water softening, fabric softening or detergency activity; (b) at least one disintegration agent comprising one or more crosslinked polyacrylate water absorbent polymers with a gel-formation time of 30 seconds or less and (c) at least one water transport agent to transport water into the pellet when the pellet contacts water.

Low/non-phosphate detergent tablets comprising neutralized polymer

A detergent tablet is disclosed which comprises at least 50 wt % of a non-phosphate builder and from 0 to 20 wt % of a phosphate builder, and has incorporated therein as binder from 0.3 to 5 wt % of a neutralised polymer of hydrophilic or hydrophobic monomers which have a glass transition temperature (Tg) of from 40 to 120.degree. C., which monomers comprise(meth)acrylic acid, maleic anhydride, alkyl (meth)acrylates, alkylhydroxy (meth)acrylates, or styrene, the polymer having a weight average molecular weight of from 10,000 to 120,000.

Cleaning compositions containing a lime-soap dispersant and a method of preparing liquid cleaning compositions containing lime-soap dispersants are disclosed. More specifically, cleaning compositions containing lime-soap dispersant polymers derived from maleic acid, maleic anhydride, or salts thereof, copolymerized with a hydrophobic monomer containing from 4 to 20 carbon atoms are disclosed. Cleaning compositions containing a lime-soap dispersant based on maleic acid/diisobutylene polymers are particulary effective in producing stable liquid cleaning compositions with good lime-soap dispersancy properties.
