A joint strip including a center trunk, at least one recess formed by at least one upper flange and at least one lower flange for use in bridging a gap in sheet metal, such as in cable trays, cable tray covers, or two pieces of sheet metal. The joint strip may include more than one recess. The one or more recesses are configured to accept, for example, a cable tray surface located at a gap between two cable trays. The joint strip can be inserted between cable trays, for example, without disconnecting the trays from each other or removed in existing cable trays without separating adjacent sections of cable tray or cable tray covers.

A vented exhaust system for an electrical cabinet housing high voltage equipment. Very short-time explosions can occur within the electrical cabinet that are the result of a short circuit of the equipment housed within. The vented exhaust system provides for a way to safely release the pressure and hot gasses that can result from the short circuit so that the cabinet does not explode.

An improved wire connector is provided that allows for securing one, two, or more cables in an electrical box knockout hole. The wire connector body interior includes a central tab with a hinge for exerting pressure against at least a first/tab cable. The central tab also has a gripping portion for gripping the tab cable without cutting its sheathing. In preferred embodiments, the central tab further includes a multifunction tab member, such as a multifunction knob or multifunction bumpers, which provides inter alia a secondary spring function for applying added pressure on an inserted tab cable, especially when a second/wall cable is inserted. The wire connector body contains ribs on the inner wall facing the central tab gripping portion for gripping a wall cable without cutting its insulation. The wire connector body also contains a longitudinal slot for easy installation or removal from an electrical box.

A cable tray structure includes a first section that includes a first number of sidewall members connected to each other, a second section that includes a second number of sidewall members connected to each other and one or more members coupled to the first section and the second section to provide support for cables or conduits. The first section is configured to connect with a first side rail of a third cable tray section that is to be installed in a first position, and connect with a first side rail of a fourth cable tray section that is to be installed in a second position that is angularly offset with respect to the first position. The second section is configured to connect with a second side rail of the third cable tray section, and connect with a second side rail of the fourth cable tray section.

A meter socket for a meter box includes a set of meter jaws to receive a watt-hour meter, a bypass conductor member to selectively connect the meter jaws and provide a bypass for the watt-hour meter, and an activator for the bypass conductor member. The activator is configured to be activated by a user through a closed meter box to move the bypass conductor member from a metered position to a bypass position.

An electrical box assembly includes an electrical box and a primary bracket. The primary bracket includes a first end panel for securing to a first surface of a stud; a second end panel for securing to a second surface of the stud and in a substantially parallel orientation to the first end panel; and mounting panel, joined to a first surface of the electrical box and located between the first end panel and the second end panel, the mounting panel having a length corresponding to a first stud depth. The primary bracket also includes an adaptation panel, between the mounting panel and the rear panel, having a length corresponding to a difference between the first stud depth and a second larger stud depth. The adaptation panel is selectively manipulated to position the front panel and the rear panel to accommodate either the first stud depth or the second stud depth.

A conductive member for mounting a meter socket line connector includes an aperture configured to receive a fastener for the line connector and a protrusion in a different plane than that of the aperture. The protrusion includes a first notch configured to receive a first-size line connector that is secured to the conductive member by the fastener through the aperture and a second notch configured to receive a second-size line connector that is secured to the conductive member by the fastener through the aperture. The protrusion is configured to receive a corner of either the first-size line connector or the second-size line connector without changes to the conductive member.

An electrical connector assembly includes a first connector including a first housing having a contact and a second connector configured for connection with the first connector, wherein the second connector includes a second housing having a conductor. The first connector is configured for connection to the second connector in at least a first position and a second position. In the first position, the first connector is connected to the second connector, and the conductor of the second connector is not in electrical contact with the contact in the first connector. In the second position, the first connector is connected to the second connector, and the conductor of the second connector is in electrical contact with the contact in the first connector.

An electrical outlet box assembly includes an electrical outlet box and a cable protector. The outlet box includes a box interior for accommodating an electrical fixture and an electrical cable terminated to the fixture. The outlet box includes a mounting tab having a threaded aperture therethrough. The mounting screws are insertable through the aperture of the mounting tab. The cable protector is positioned adjacent the mounting tab for separating the mounting screw from the interior of the box for preventing contact between the mounting screw and the cable terminated therein.

One aspect of the present invention includes a sealing ring having a split-ring annular band which includes a first and second end. A first tab is disposed at the first end, with the first tab extending away from the annular band. The first tab also includes a first threaded aperture. A second tab is disposed at the second end, with the second tab also extending away from the annular band The second tab also includes a second threaded aperture. Additionally, a thread of the first aperture is different from a thread of the second aperture. Further, the sealing ring includes a fastener threadedly engaged with the first and second apertures. Rotation of the fastener adjusts a radial dimension of the annular band.
