A limb sparring system for replacing a portion of a radius, the radius being adjacent to an ulna, the system comprising a cutting guide including a cut guiding portion for guiding a saw when making a predetermined cut in the radius to excise the portion of the radius, an opposed ulnar mounting portion mountable to the ulna, and a linking portion extending therebetween; and an endoprosthesis configured for replacing the portion of the radius after the portion of the radius has been excised. When the cutting guide is operatively mounted to the radius and ulna, the cut guiding portion and the ulnar mounting portion engage respectively the radius and the ulna in a predetermined spatial relationship relative thereto.

A cutting guide for guiding a cut in a radius, the radius being adjacent to an ulna, the cutting guide comprising: a cut guiding portion, an opposed ulnar mounting portion and a linking portion extending therebetween; the cutting guide being delimited by a cutting guide peripheral surface defining a bone facing portion, the bone facing portion being contoured to match the shape of the radius and ulna.

An orthopaedic fixation component attachable to a femur, said femur defining a femur shaft, a femur head and a femur neck extending therebetween, said femur further defining a greater trochanter limiting laterally said femur neck, said orthopaedic fixation component comprising: a shaft section fixation portion and an end section fixation portion extending substantially longitudinally therefrom, said shaft section and end section fixation portions being respectively securable to said femur shaft and said greater trochanter; said end section fixation portion including a pair of end arms, said end arms being configured, sized and positioned to delimit a trochanter receiving recess for substantially fittingly receiving a prominent portion of said greater trochanter.

Orthopaedic fixation component and method

An acetabular reamer comprising: a body defining a rotation axis about which the acetabular reamer is rotatable; a reaming element movable between a reaming element inner position and a reaming element outer position relative to the body; an actuator for moving the reaming element between the reaming element inner and outer positions; and a reaming element lock configurable between a locked configuration and an unlocked configuration. In the unlocked configuration, the reaming element is freely movable by the actuator between the reaming element inner and outer positions. In the locked configuration, the reaming element lock prevents the reaming element from moving relative to the body. In use, when the reaming element lock is in the locked configuration and reaction forces are exerted onto the reaming element, a larger portion of the reaction forces is transmitted to the body than to the actuator.
