A method and system for indicating a status of a load of a sub-system in a marine vehicle where the load is controlled by a switch provided on a steering wheel of the marine vehicle. The method comprises: providing a switch controller in the steering wheel for controlling communications between the steering wheel and the marine vehicle; providing a switch for the load on the steering wheel; providing a status indicator for the load on the steering wheel; detecting an activation of the switch by the switch controller; the switch controller transmitting a command to the load in the marine vehicle in response to the activation; providing a load controller in the marine vehicle, the load controller controlling a power input to the switch controller, the load controller receiving the command and activating the load in response to the command; detecting a status of the load; interrupting a power input to the switch controller for a predetermined interruption duration corresponding to the detected status; the switch controller activating the status indicator to indicate the detected status of the load.

Communication with a steering wheel switch

A method and system for powering at least one switch provided on the steering wheel assembly of an off road vehicle. The method or system includes providing a rechargeable accumulator in the steering wheel assembly and powering the switch from the accumulator. The method or system also includes an energy source for recharging the accumulator along with the step of comparing a detected energy level and/or a detected time elapsed to a threshold value corresponding to the energy level being sufficient to power the switch and enable its use. Said aforementioned step is utilized to determine if there is energy sufficiency or an energy insufficiency in the accumulator. If the comparison yields an energy insufficiency, the energy source may be instructed to recharge the accumulator, and hence increase its energy level. The above discussed steps may be repeated to ensure the sufficiency of the energy level to power the switch.

According to a first broad aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method and system for indicating a status of a subsystem controlled by a switch provided on a steering wheel of a marine vehicle. The method and system comprise: providing a switch for the subsystem on the steering wheel of the marine vehicle; providing a status indicator for the switch; detecting an activation of the switch; transmitting a command to the subsystem in the marine vehicle in response to the activation; detecting an operation status of the subsystem in response to the command; and activating the status indicator to indicate information of the operation status.

A method and system for powering at least one switch provided on the steering wheel assembly of a marine vehicle. A rechargeable accumulator is provided in the steering wheel assembly. The switch is powered from the accumulator. An energy source is provided for recharging the accumulator. A detected energy level and/or a detected time elapsed is compared to a threshold value corresponding to the energy level being sufficient to power the switch and enable its use and determine if there is energy sufficiency or an energy insufficiency in the accumulator. If the comparison yields an energy insufficiency, the energy source is instructed to recharge the accumulator, and hence increase its energy level.

Secondary power supply system and method of activating subsystems from a vehicle steering wheel

A signaling device for a marine vehicle having a fuel tank, a fuel level value detected in the fuel tank, and a blower to evacuate fuel fumes. The signaling device comprises: a fuel level variation detector; a refueling detector for detecting a fuel level variation corresponding to a refueling event; a refueling signal generator for generating a refueling signal when the refueling event is detected; and a refueling activator for activating the blower, and/or an indicator of refueling for the user, using the refueling signal. A signaling method for the marine vehicle comprising: detecting a variation of the fuel level value over time; detecting a fuel level increase in the variation to correspond to a refueling event; generating a refueling signal when the refueling event is detected; and activating the blower, and/or an indicator of refueling for the user, using the refueling signal.

Fuel level variation detector for marine vehicle

A transponder system for motor vehicle, used both as a RKE system and as a kill switch type safety system, is described herein. The transponder system includes an electronic lock assembly provided with a housing, an interrogator circuit and a coil antenna. The transponder system also includes an electronic key provided with a housing made of a slightly resilient material, a transponder circuit, and a coil antenna. The key assembly may be releasably mounted to the lock assembly since the housing of the key assembly is made of a slightly resilient material. Continuous interactions between the electronic lock and the electronic key are required for the continuous operation of the engine of the vehicle.

Presence and recognition system

A selective ignition switch for a vehicle provided with two motors is disclosed herein. The selective ignition switch includes a selective switch assembly, a lock assembly to energize the selective switch assembly and a key to toggle the lock assembly. The selective switch assembly and the lock assembly are connected to a controller that activate the selective ignition switch mechanism relay the signals from the selective switch assembly to the two ignition systems of the vehicle.

An electronic ignition system for an internal combustion engine is described herein. The ignition system includes a sensor assembly provided with two sensing elements configured and sized to detect teeth mounted on an outer cylindrical surface of the rotor of the voltage generator and to supply trigger signals to a controller. For each piston of the combustion engine, two teeth are provided onto the rotor. A first tooth is positioned to be detected before the piston reaches its top dead center when the rotor rotates in a forward direction and a second tooth is positioned to be detected before the piston reaches its top dead center when the rotor rotates in a reverse direction.
