The fixing device includes a fixing belt, a pressing member, a pushing member and a cap. The fixing belt is endless and rotatable. The pressing member is configured to form a pressing area with the fixing belt. The pushing member is configured to come into contact with an inner circumferential face of the fixing belt via a lubricant and to push the fixing belt to the pressing member at the pressing area. The cap is configured to be attached to an end portion of the fixing belt through an elastic member. The cap has a contact part with which an end face of the fixing belt comes into contact. The contact part has a groove configured to store the lubricant leaked from the fixing belt. The groove is formed such that a width is varied along a radial direction of the cap.

A fixing device includes a fixing member, a pressing member, a charger and an air discharging device. The fixing member is rotatably provided and heated by a heat source. The pressing member is rotatably provided and brought into pressure contact with the fixing member to form a fixing nip through which a sheet having a toner image is passed. A detected area is arranged on the outer circumferential face of the heating body so that the infrared rays radiated from the detected area is detected by the infrared detecting element. The detecting mechanism is arranged in a posture inclined to another posture facing the outer circumferential face of the heating body so that a width in the second direction of the detected area is wider than a width in the first direction of the detected area.

A fixing device includes a first rotating member, a second rotating member and a blowing unit. The first rotating member is heated by a heat source. The second rotating member is pressed against the first rotating member to form a fixing nip with the first rotating member along a conveying path of a recording medium. The blowing unit blows a cooling airflow toward the first rotating member. An airflow route from the blowing unit to the first rotating member is arranged so as to cross the conveying path.

A fixing device includes a fixing roller, a pressure roller, and a regulation member. The fixing roller includes a roller member and a fixing belt. The roller member includes a shaft which extends in one direction and an elastic layer integrally formed on the shaft. Each regulation member has an annular regulation surface which opposes a side edge of the fixing belt, and is configured to regulate movement of the fixing belt in a rotation axis direction. The shielding member includes a first annular portion provided at a position corresponding to a boundary part between the first and second areas, and the first annular portion has a shape closed in a circumferential direction and is electrically insulated at a circumferential part when viewed in an axial direction of the movable core.

The magnetism adjustment member allows a passage of a magnetic flux from the magnetic core towards the heating member within the magnetic field range when the magnetic field path is switched to the first path, and shields the magnetic flux without allowing the passage of the magnetic flux within the magnetic field range when the magnetic path is switched to the second path. Further, the magnetism adjustment member has a plurality of ring-shaped portions formed of a single wire material having an endless shape. Each of the ring-shaped portions extends in a longitudinal direction of the magnetic core according to a size of the sheet.
