A drag mechanism is configured to brake rotation of a spool in a fishing-line releasing direction about a handle shaft. The drag mechanism includes a drag regulation member, a drag washer, a handle, a one-way clutch, and a cam. The drag regulation member is configured to regulate drag force, where the drag regulation member includes an operating part and a regulation nut. The regulation nut is axially movably and unitarily rotatably coupled to the operating part. The regulation nut is screwed onto an outer peripheral surface of a tip end of the handle shaft. The drag washer is disposed onto the handle shaft. The handle is disposed between the drag washer and the drag regulation member. The one-way clutch is configured to prevent rotation of the handle shaft in the fishing-line releasing direction. The cam mechanism is configured to increase the drag force.

Drag mechanism for dual-bearing reel

A fish depth monitor is a device that can display first water depth data that indicates the location of terminal tackle that is engaged on fishing line reeled out from a spool, and second water depth data that indicates the location of the bottom of a fishing location transmitted from a fish finder, and includes a case, first and second reception portions, a display unit, and a control unit. The first and second reception portions receive the first water depth data from an electric driven reel and the second water depth data from the fish finder. The control unit graphically displays the received first and second water depth data in positions that correspond to the water depth on the display unit. It is possible to intuitively determine the positional relationship between the location of the terminal tackle and the location of the bottom.

A line guide mechanism ( ) for a spinning reel is provided with the stationary shaft cover ( ) and the line roller ( ) for guiding a fishing line (L) to a spool ( ). The stationary shaft ( ) is fixed at one end to a bail support member ( ). The stationary shaft cover ( ) is fixed to the other end of the stationary shaft ( ) at an interval with the bail support member ( ). The line roller ( ) is rotatably supported to the stationary shaft ( ) between the bail support member ( ) and the stationary shaft cover ( ) for guiding the fishing line to the spool when the fishing line is wound. To make a reel body compact, a fishing reel is mounted on a fishing rod with a cylindrical portion 30, and is provided with a rotatable rotor 3, a reel body 2, a spool shaft 20, a spool 4, a handle shaft 7, a pinion gear 14, and a oscilating mechanism 6. The reel body 2 has a rotor support portion 10c for rotatably supporting the rotor, and a flange portion 10d formed so as to cover a rear end portion of the cylindrical portion 30 outside the rotor support portion 10c. A housing of the reel body 2, has a lateral width rearward of the flange portion 10d that is in the range of 20 to 60% of a diameter of the flange portion 10d. The spool shaft 20 is reciprocatingly rotatably supported for back and forth movement within the housing of the reel body 2. The spool 4 is fixed to an end of the spool shaft 20 such that the fishing line may be guided by a fishing line guiding portion and wound around an outer circumference of the spool. A oscilating mechanism 6 includes a screw shaft 21 disposed above and generally parallel with the spool shaft 20 within the housing.

A spinning reel frame structure for a spinning reel having a spool, a rotor and a handle coupled to the rotor for rotating the rotor includes a frame assembly and a cover. The frame assembly rotatably supports the handle and rotor, and supports the spool, and has a side in which an opening is defined. The cover includes a cover member that is detachably affixed to the frame assembly and that covers the opening in the frame assembly, and a mounting leg member which projects from the cover member and which has a distal end provided with a rod mounting member.

A bail mode switching device for a spinning reel which produces an audible sound when a bail on the spinning reel switches between a line reeling mode and and a line casting mode. A spinning reel includes a reel body, a handle, a spool supported in a forward position of the reel body through a spool shaft, and a rotor rotatable about an axis by drive transmitted from the handle to wind a fishing line on the spool. The rotor includes a first arm and a second arm extending forwardly from peripheries of the rotor, a line guide portion mounted on the first arm to be movable substantially in fore and aft directions of the reel body, a bail extending from the vicinity of the line guide portion, and a transmission mechanism for moving the line guide portion. The transmission mechanism is disposed radially outwardly of the spool and extending in the fore and aft direction.

A spinning reel has a rotor mounted forwardly of a reel body, and an anti-reverse mechanism for preventing the rotor from rotating in a line unwinding direction. The anti-reverse mechanism includes teeth formed on an element rotatable with the rotor, and a stopper engageable with the teeth. When a force is applied to the rotor in the line unwinding direction, a brake mechanism applies a braking force to rotation of the rotor through a one-way clutch mechanism while allowing the rotation until the stopper engages one of the teeth. The anti-reverse mechanism also includes a switching member operable to switch the stopper between a position engageable with the teeth and a position retracted from the teeth. A release mechanism cancels the braking force in response to an operation the switching member to retract the stopper from the teeth.

A spinning reel has a rotor mounted forwardly of a reel body, and an anti-reverse mechanism for preventing the rotor from rotating in a line unwinding direction. The anti-reverse mechanism includes teeth formed on an element rotatable with the rotor, and a stopper engageable with the teeth. When a force is applied to the rotor in the line unwinding direction, a brake mechanism applies a braking force to rotation of the rotor through a one-way clutch mechanism while allowing the rotation until the stopper engages one of the teeth. The anti-reverse mechanism also includes a switfching member operable to switch the stopper between a position engageable with the teeth and a position retracted from the teeth. A drag mechanism for a spinning reel includes a pressing member mounted on a spool shaft not to be rotatable relative thereto, a frictional section formed on a front surface of a spool, and a control member meshed with a screw portion at a forward end of the spool shaft for applying a pressure to the pressing member to adjust a contact pressure between the pressing member and frictional section. The control member includes a tubular portion adjacent the pressing member and coaxial with the spool shaft, the tubular portion defining a toothed surface and a large diameter portion having a larger diameter than the toothed surface. The pressing member carries a resilient element extending through openings in the pressing member into contact with the toothed surface forwardly of the large diameter portion. The resilient element is engageable with and disengageable from the toothed surface to produce a sound when the control member is turned.

A fishing reel has a handle shaft, a movable member movable along an axis of the handle shaft, and a handle projectable and retractable relative to the movable member in a direction normal or substantially normal to the shaft axis. The reel further includes a handle-length adjusting mechanism engageable or pressure-contactable with the movable member or a further member movable relative to the movable member when the movable member is moved along the shaft axis thereby to prevent a projecting/retracting movement of the handle.

A spinning reel includes a reversing mechanism and a one way clutch. The one-way clutch includes a ratchet wheel defining a plurality of teeth, and a ratchet pawl. The one-way clutch, an engaging section of a reel body and the reversing mechanism are in such a positional relationship that the reversing mechanism contacts or lies close to the engaging sections when a rotor is stopped by the one-way clutch.

A spinning reel has a reel body, a rotor rotatably supported to the reel body, a bail arm extending between a pair of arm portions of the rotor and pivotably switchable between an open position and a line-takeup position, a toggle mechanism disposed inside the arm portions for retaining the bail arm either to the open position or to the line-takeup position and a return mechanism for returning the bail arm from the open position to the line-takeup position when the rotor is rotated in a line-takeup direction. The invention further provides the reel with a returning force adjustment mechanism for variably setting at a desired value a reaction force needed for returning the bail arm from the open position to the line-takeup position.
