In a method for quantitatively analyzing an analyte in a liquid sample by applying the liquid sample on one of a set of analytical elements and measuring a color developed in the analytical element through reflection photometory in which said set of analytical elements are the same elements as a standard element except for deviation of sensitivity to the analyte, but said deviation of sensitivity is essentially equivalent to each other among the set of analytical elements, the calibration curve of the standard element with respect to said analyte being predetermined, an improvement involving the preparation of a linear equation for defining a relationship between an optical reflection density value OD.sub.x to be measured on an analytical element belonging to said set of the analytical elements and an optical reflection density value OD.sub.s being predetermined on the standard analytical element, in which the optical reflection density values OD.sub.x and OD.sub.s are those to be determined on colors developed on the respective elements upon application of a liquid sample containing the analyte in the same content C.sub.x.

Method for quantitative analysis of analyte in liquid sample using

A chemical analysis apparatus comprises a slide loading section for holding chemical analysis slides, a section for applying a sample material to the chemical analysis slide, and an incubator provided with housing compartments for housing the chemical analysis slides side by side in a transverse direction on the same plane. The apparatus also comprises a read-out head slideable in the transverse direction and disposed to face the chemical analysis slide housed in the housing compartment via a readout opening formed in each housing compartment, thereby emitting light to the chemical analysis slide and measuring the reflection optical density thereof. A conveyance and feed-in system is disposed for conveying the chemical analysis slide held at the slide loading section to the sample applying section, conveying the chemical analysis slide having a reagent layer with the sample material applied thereon to a position facing an inlet opening of the housing compartment, and then feeding the chemical analysis slide into the housing compartment from the inlet opening thereof.

Chemical analysis apparatus

A method for correction of calibration curve in a dry analytical process for quantitative analysis of analyte in a liquid sample such as blood is disclosed. In the method, a calibration curve which has been previously determined for analysis of the analyte using a standard dry analytical element is corrected for application to a dry analytical element having deviated from the standard dry analytical element in its sensitivity to the analyte due to unintentional denaturation, variation, etc., utilizing an optical density determined on the above deviated dry analytical element which has not received spotting of a liquid sample containing the analyte.

Method for correction of calibration curve in dry analytical process

In a thermally developable light-sensitive material comprising a support having therein or thereon at least one layer containing at least (a) an organic silver salt, (b) a light-sensitive silver halide or a component capable of forming a light-sensitive silver halide and (c) a reducing agent, the improvement wherein at least one layer provided on the support comprises, or the support is impregnated with, (d) at least one member selected from the group consisting of rosin of an acid value more than about 100, one or more diterpene acids or a mixture thereof in an amount sufficient to decrease heat fogging and to improve the storability of light-sensitive materials.
