An image capturing unit captures an image of a surface of a member treated by a surface treatment unit. A comparison unit obtains a correlation coefficient between a reference image stored in a storage unit and the image captured by the image capturing unit. A cross-correlation coefficient between power spectra of the reference image and the image captured by the image capturing unit is obtained. A control unit stops a surface treatment performed by the surface treatment unit when the correlation coefficient obtained by the comparison unit reaches a set value.

An optical signal processing device with a transponder aggregator function by which theoretical loss is not increased even if the number of necessary transponders is increased. Optical signals inputted from input ports are inputted to a PLC. The PLC has SBTs. The input ports are connected to the input-end SBT, and a plane wave is outputted from an output end of the PLC to the space side at an angle different for each input port. Optical signals outputted by the PLC are changed in their optical paths on the x-z plane by a cylindrical lens (Lsp) designed to refract optical signals in the x-axis direction, and are reflected by an LCOS at different regions corresponding to the positions of the input port. A wavelength selection switch can decrease the amount of increase in size and cost of a node device by integrating and sharing the constituent components of a plurality of wavelength selection switches or optical components mounted in a node. The wavelength selection switch has: at least one input port that inputs light; at least one output port that receives light from the input port; at least one light-collecting element that alters the beam shape of the light entering from the input port; at least one scattering element that scatters the light entering from the input port into each wavelength; at least one wavefront control element that causes light of each wavelength scattered by the scattering element to be reflected to the output port for each wavelength.

An optical input/output device includes a phase modulator element and an optical element. The phase modulator element includes a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix and is configured to change an optical phase of signal light by applying a driving signal corresponding to a phase pattern. The optical element is configured to convert a direction of exit of the signal light so as to irradiate each pixel with the signal light from the input port. A pattern generator unit includes superimposing means for superimposing a periodic phase pattern having a predetermined period in at least one direction in a plane of the phase modulator element, and means for controlling an amplitude of the periodic phase pattern. The signal light is diffracted to a position according to the period of the superimposed periodic phase pattern, so that light intensity of the signal light is dispersed.

Optical input/output device

An optical switch includes an input port, output ports, and a spatial light modulating section that receives an optical signal from the input port to deflect the optical signal to a selected one of the output ports. A phase distribution with the same radius of curvature as that of a wavefront of the optical signal and a phase distribution that allows the deflected optical signal to be coupled to the output port are set for the spatial light modulating section.

Optical switch

One side surface of a diffraction grating is securely held by a holder, and further, the holder is securely supported on a substrate by a supporter in such a manner that the diffraction grating held by the holder is not brought into contact with the substrate. In this manner, the diffraction grating is fixed only onto one side surface to the supporter via the holder, and further, the diffraction grating is not brought into contact with the substrate. Therefore, the lower portion of the supporter is displaced by heat generated in the substrate, however, the displacement of the supporter cannot adversely influence directly on the diffraction grating since the holder is interposed between the displaced portion and the diffraction grating.
