A liquid droplet ejecting apparatus includes: an ejecting head made of metal and having an ejection surface; an electrode which moves relative to the ejection surface; a voltage source generating a potential difference between the ejecting head and the electrode; an electric current detector detecting an electric current between the ejecting head and the electrode; and a controller. The controller is configured to: calculate a flying speed of the liquid droplet based on a first distance between the ejecting head and the electrode and a time during which the electric current flows between the ejecting head and the electrode; and calculate an ejection bending amount, based on a time after the liquid droplet is ejected from the ejecting head in a state that the ejection surface and the electrode are apart from each other by a second distance and until the liquid droplet lands on the electrode.

Liquid droplet ejecting apparatus

A liquid droplet ejecting apparatus, includes: an ejecting head which ejects liquid droplets; a light source which causes light to be radiated toward a flight space of the liquid droplets with a first output power or a second output power; a detecting element which detects received amount of the light radiated from the light source and passed through the liquid droplets flying in the flight space; and a controller. The controller causes the light to be radiated from the light source with the first or second output power at a timing of the ejecting head being driven to eject the liquid droplets; in a first detecting mode, executes a detection about an ejection failure of the nozzles based on the received amount of the light; and in a second detecting mode, executes a detection about a phenomenon causing the ejection failure based on the received amount of the light.

A liquid droplet discharge apparatus includes: a metallic discharge head configured to discharge a liquid droplet onto a print medium; an electrode arranged facing the discharge head; a voltage source configured to generate a potential difference between the discharge head and the electrode; a current detection part configured to detect a current flowing between the discharge head and the electrode; and a controller. The controller is configured to calculate a volume of the liquid droplet based on a current value detected by the current detection part, in a case that the liquid droplet is discharged from the discharge head in a state that the potential difference is generated between the discharge head and the electrode by the voltage source.
