To provide a controller for rotary electric machine which can determine an abnormality of a calculation unit which calculates voltage command values on a rotating coordinate system of d-axis and q-axis by other arithmetic processors, without adding a new arithmetic processor for abnormality detection, in a controller which controls a rotary electric machine using a plurality of arithmetic processors. The second arithmetic processor calculates voltage command values for control on rotating coordinate system of d-axis and q-axis, based on current command values acquired from the first arithmetic processor; and the first arithmetic processor calculates voltage command values for determination on rotating coordinate system of d-axis and q-axis, based on the current command values, and determines whether or not abnormality occurred in the second arithmetic processor, by comparing the voltage command values for control acquired from the second arithmetic processor with the voltage command values for determination.

To provide a controller of rotary electric machine which can control voltage of each set of the winding appropriately within a range less than or equal to the DC power voltage, to the rotary electric machine which has plural sets of windings. A controller of rotary electric machine calculates, for each set, a required DC voltage which is a minimum DC power voltage required for applying a voltage according to the voltage command value to the winding, based on the voltage command value; calculates one common required DC voltage which is common to all sets, based on all sets of the required DC voltages; changes the common voltage control value so that the common required DC voltage-approaches the DC power voltage; and changes each set of the current command value based on the common voltage control value.

An electric motor control apparatus includes a phase correction portion that generates and outputs an amount of phase correction with which to correct a phase of a signal from a position sensor detecting a position of a magnetic pole of an electric motor. The phase correction portion generates and outputs an energization stop signal in a case where a rotation speed of the electric motor is within a predetermined range and stores an amount of phase correction generated therein according to a comparison between a signal from the position sensor or a first phase and an induced voltage of the electric motor to output the amount of phase correction.

An electric motor control apparatus capable of controlling a motor normally regardless of failures is obtained without increased cost. The apparatus includes a position sensor failure determination unit which outputs a failure determination signal, and generates a first phase; a motor rotation speed calculator which operates based on the failure determination signal and position sensor signals; a phase command generator producing a phase command based on the first phase, the failure determination signal and rotation speed; an amplitude command generator that generates an amplitude command indicating magnitude of a driving signal for the motor, and an electrical energization unit that applies the driving signal to the motor based on the phase command and the amplitude command. Upon failure of a position sensor, the phase command generator generates the phase command using the first phase, and a second phase obtained based on the first phase and the rotation speed.
