Infusion devices and related medical devices, patient data management systems, and methods are provided for monitoring a physiological condition of a patient. An exemplary method of monitoring a physiological condition of a patient involves obtaining current measurement data for the physiological condition of the patient provided by a sensing arrangement, obtaining a user input indicative of one or more future events associated with the patient, and in response to the user input, determining a prediction of the physiological condition of the patient in the future based at least in part on the current measurement data and the one or more future events using one or more prediction models associated with the patient, and displaying a graphical representation of the prediction on a display device.

Patient-specific glucose prediction systems and methods

A medicine injection pen includes a body, a drive member, a cartridge housing, and a medicine cartridge retained within the cartridge housing. The drive member is configured to move relative to the body and the medicine cartridge defines an interior volume configured to retain a liquid medicine. The drive member is configured to translate a piston within the interior volume toward a dispensing end of the medicine cartridge to dispense at least some of the liquid medicine. The medicine cartridge also includes an insertion port configured to receive a medicine dispensing element therethrough for dispensing a liquid medicine into the interior volume to replace at least some of the liquid medicine dispensed through the dispensing end. Dispensing of the liquid medicine into the interior volume of the medicine cartridge applies a fluid pressure to the piston to translate the piston away from the dispensing end of the medicine cartridge.

An exemplary method of querying a database involves receiving an input query from a client device, identifying a logical layer of a plurality of different logical layers of the database for searching based at least in part on the input query, generating a query statement for searching the identified logical layer of the plurality of different logical layers of the database based at least in part on the input query, querying the identified logical layer of the database using the query statement to obtain result data, and providing a search result influenced by the result data.

Patient data management systems and conversational interaction methods

Methods and systems for sensor calibration and sensor glucose (SG) fusion are used advantageously to improve the accuracy and reliability of orthogonally redundant glucose sensor devices, which may include optical and electrochemical glucose sensors. Calibration for both sensors may be achieved via fixed-offset and/or dynamic regression methodologies, depending, e.g., on sensor stability and Isig-Ratio pair correlation. For SG fusion, respective integrity checks may be performed for SG values from the optical and electrochemical sensors, and the SG values calibrated if the integrity checks are passed. Integrity checks may include checking for sensitivity loss, noise, and drift. If the integrity checks are failed, in-line sensor mapping between the electrochemical and optical sensors may be performed prior to calibration. The electrochemical and optical SG values may be weighted (as a function of the respective sensor's overall reliability index (RI)) and the weighted SGs combined to obtain a single, fused SG value.

Glucose sensor system

Techniques for glucose level management are disclosed. In some examples, the techniques may involve obtaining an estimated protein value for a meal and determining an equivalent carbohydrate value for the meal based on the estimated protein value. In some examples, the techniques may involve obtaining an estimated fat value for a meal and determining, based on the estimated fat value, a glucose absorption rate resulting from consumption of the meal. In some examples, the equivalent carbohydrate value and/or the glucose absorption rate may be used to determine an amount of insulin to deliver to a patient to counteract a glucose level increase caused by consumption of the meal. The techniques may further involve generating an output indicative of the amount of insulin to deliver to the patient to counteract the glucose level increase caused by consumption of the meal.

Techniques disclosed herein relate to providing guidance for configuring a medical device to a user in response to detected gestures of the user. In some embodiments, the techniques involve obtaining sensor data indicative of one or more gestures of a user of a medical device, and detecting a configuration procedure being performed on the medical device by the user based on the sensor data, where the configuration procedure includes a sequence of tasks to be performed by the user to configure the medical device. Techniques for detection of occurrence of a meal are provided. In some embodiments, the techniques may involve obtaining a plurality of glucose measurements indicative of a glucose level in a body of a patient during an analysis interval. The techniques may involve determining one or more glucose measurement statistics based on the plurality of glucose measurements. The techniques may involve determining a likelihood of the patient having consumed a meal during the analysis interval based on the one or more glucose measurement statistics that are correlative to an occurrence of a meal for the patient. The techniques may involve detecting an occurrence of the meal during the analysis interval based on the likelihood of the patient having consumed the meal during the analysis interval.

Personalized event detection

Infusion devices and related medical devices, patient data management systems, and methods are provided for monitoring a physiological condition of a patient. An exemplary infusion device includes an actuation arrangement operable to deliver fluid to a user, a communications interface to receive measurement data indicative of a physiological condition of the user, a sensing arrangement to obtain contextual measurement data, and a control system coupled to the actuation arrangement, the communications interface and the sensing arrangement to determine a command for autonomously operating the actuation arrangement in a manner that is influenced by the measurement data and the contextual measurement data and autonomously operate the actuation arrangement in accordance with the command to deliver the fluid to the user.

Disclosed herein are techniques related to glucose estimation without continuous glucose monitoring. In some embodiments, the techniques may involve receiving input data associated with a user. The input data may comprise discrete blood glucose measurement data associated with the user, activity data associated with the user, contextual data associated with the user, or a combination thereof. The techniques may also involve using an estimation model and the input data associated with the user to generate one or more estimated blood glucose values associated with the user.
