An apparatus is provided for treating a vascular malformation. The apparatus includes an orifice section, an intra-vascular-malformation docking section, and a connecting section. The apparatus is configured such that, when unconstrained the orifice section is shaped so as to define an orifice-section curve that winds at least 2.5 turns around an orifice-section central axis at a changing distance from the orifice-section central axis, the intra-vascular-malformation docking section is shaped so as to define a docking-section curve that winds between 0.5 and 2 turns around a docking-section central axis at a changing or constant distance from the docking-section central axis, and the connecting section connects the orifice-section curve with the docking-section curve, and has an average radius of curvature that is different from an average radius of curvature of an outermost loop of the orifice-section curve. Other embodiments are also described.

Devices for treating vascular malformations

A non-occlusive device is provided that includes a coilable section and a docking section. The coilable section is configured to become coiled into a coil when deployed from a microcatheter within a vascular malformation. The coil is shaped so as to define a sequence of concentric loops. The coil is configured to bridge a neck of the vascular malformation so as to at least partially cover an orifice of the vascular malformation, when in use. The docking section is configured to be deployed from the microcatheter within the vascular malformation. The docking section is configured to, when in use, perform one or more functions selected from the group consisting of: anchoring the device within the vascular malformation, stabilizing the device within the vascular malformation, assisting with positioning of the device within the vascular malformation, and intertwining detachable coils delivered to the vascular malformation. Other embodiments are also described.

Medical device for treating vascular malformations

In general, the invention features an intra-vascular device for filtering or deflecting emboli or other large objects from entering a protected secondary vessel or vessels. The device of the invention may include a filter, an central member, additional supporting members, and a delivery cable and may serve to filter or deflect emboli or other large objects from entering protected secondary vessels. The device may be capable of collapse along its longitudinal axis for ease of delivery to the treatment site. The device may further be compatible with common delivery methods used in interventional cardiology (e.g., TAVI procedures). The device may be integrated into the delivery systems. In other embodiments the device may be detachable from the delivery system. Upon deployment, the device may be positioned so as to contact the orifice of one or more secondary blood vessels. Upon retrieval the device may be retracted in an orientation substantially similar to the original deployment orientation.

Embolic filter device and method of use thereof

This invention relates to devices that are inserted in a blood vessel or other body lumen, and in particular to filter that may block particles from entering a blood vessel. Devices of this invention position and secure a filter in a vascular system to intercept particulates, including emboli.

Intravascular device with multiple leaflets

Methods and apparatus for connecting to a bone, which avoid the use of bone screws. A triangular shaped modular implant is used, with two sides of the structure and their respective vertex secured generally within the bone, with the base of the triangle outside the bone. These two arms, whether straight or arcuate, are cannulated, and are held together at their distal ends by a tightened cable that runs through both of the arms. The proximal ends of these arms are connected to a base side that completes the triangular structure. The device may be inserted into a vertebra and the base used for vertebral fusion. Alternatively, the arms themselves may be used to stabilize and fixate adjacent vertebrae, by insertion through adjacent vertebrae trans-segmentally. In the latter case, the vertex may be within the intervertebral space or within the vertebral body close to the intervertebral space.
