An information distribution device capable of distributing call attention information for calling attention to an event after confirming whether or not an event has occurred depending on circumstances is provided. A communication unit receives vehicle information, which relates to the behavior of a vehicle, and image information, which includes an image photographed by a vehicle has photographed, and distributes the call attention information for calling attention to an event, to a vehicle. A control unit determines whether or not to make a request to a vehicle for transmission of the image information, based on vehicle information or weather information, and makes a request to a vehicle for transmission of an image if it is determined to make a request for transmission of the image information.

Information distribution device

A database construction system constructs a database storing broadcast channels which are receivable in each area. A receiving unit receives probe information from a plurality of broadcast receiving apparatuses, the probe information including reception intensity of each of the broadcast channels and positions of the broadcast receiving apparatuses. An information storage unit stores the probe information received by the receiving unit. An extracting unit extracts the probe information with the same broadcast channel as that of new probe information, which is the probe information newly received by the receiving unit, among the probe information transmitted from a transmission area of the new probe information, from the information storage unit. A determining unit determines whether the new probe information is valid on the basis of the reception intensity included in the probe information extracted by the extracting unit and the reception intensity included in the new probe information. A database update unit updates the database using the new probe information that is determined to be valid by the determining unit.

A total distance calculating unit calculates a total running distance and an energy-cut-off distance calculating unit calculates a deceleration running distance of a vehicle. The deceleration running distance is a distance for which the vehicle runs while the vehicle is in a deacceleration state and no energy is supplied to a motor of the vehicle. A deceleration-running evaluating unit evaluates deceleration running of the vehicle based on a ratio of the deceleration running distance to the total running distance. The result of the evaluation is displayed for the driver of the vehicle.

An information providing system is provided. An in-vehicle apparatus is provided in a vehicle. The in-vehicle apparatus receives a broadcasting. An information providing apparatus transmits area information related to a broadcast channel that is receivable in a traveling area of the vehicle to the in-vehicle apparatus. A storage unit stores the area information for each traveling area. A receiving unit receives probe information including a predetermined reference position or a position of the vehicle from the in-vehicle apparatus. An update unit updates the reference area set on the basis of the traveling record. A transmitting unit transmits the area information corresponding to the reference area set before the update to the in-vehicle apparatus corresponding to the reference area set when the update unit has not yet performed the update, and transmits the area information corresponding to the reference area set after the update to the in-vehicle apparatus corresponding to the reference area set when the update unit has performed the update.

Information providing system

A driving support apparatus supports a driver in driving a vehicle on a road by giving instructions. The driving support apparatus includes a recognizing unit that recognizes a current driving lane that is a lane on the road in which the vehicle is currently running; a lane setting unit that sets a driving schedule lane that is a lane in which the vehicle is to be driven; and a guiding unit that determines content of lane guidance based on the driving schedule lane and the current driving lane, and guides the driver to a lane based on the lane guidance when the road is substantially straight.

Current position of a vehicle and current time are acquired. A user recognizing unit recognizes a user. A pattern recognizing unit detects location of a portable device and movement thereof. Operation state of an engine is acquired from an engine control mechanism. Based on the information, processes are performed such as switching communication stand-by mode of the portable device to active stand-by mode, notifying the portable device of a transition of an on-board terminal to automatic locking mode, preventing needless unlocking and locking of doors, and setting warning mode of the portable device.

An apparatus for supporting recovery of the vehicle if the vehicle is stolen includes a determining unit that determines whether the vehicle is being stolen. A camera judges a state of the vehicle and an environment around the vehicle. When the determining unit determines that the vehicle is being stolen, a horn of the vehicle is automatically honked.
