In a power supply apparatus, one of a transformer and a first semiconductor device is stacked on the other thereof to constitute a stack assembly. The stack assembly, a second semiconductor device, and a choke coil are located on the major surface. A primary direct-current wire, which connects the first semiconductor device to a direct-current power source, is drawn out from a first predetermined portion of the stack assembly. A primary alternating-current wire, which connects the first semiconductor device and the transformer, is drawn out from a second predetermined portion of the stack assembly. The primary direct-current wire and the primary alternating-current wire are located to be separated from each other via at least a part of the stack assembly.

Power supply apparatus for reducing noise induced in DC wires

A power supply unit includes: a transformer; a primary component that constitutes a primary circuit connected to the transformer; a secondary component that constitutes a secondary circuit connected to the transformer; a choke coil; a base plate including the transformer, the primary component, the secondary component and the choke coil; a metal plate connected to the base plate; and a connecting member connecting the primary component and the transformer. The primary component and the transformer are laminated to constitute a first laminating body. A part of the metal plate is disposed closer to the transformer than the primary component, and the metal plate and the transformer are electrically connected by a ground line. A connection point between the ground line and the metal plate is located closer to the transformer than the primary component.

Power supply unit having heat dissipation structure

In a power converter, a housing is grounded. A power converter circuit is installed in the housing and configured to perform power conversion of input power into output power. An external terminal is electrically connected to the power converter circuit for connection of an external device to the power converter circuit. A first capacitor has first and second electrodes. The first electrode of the first capacitor is connected to the external terminal, and the second electrode thereof is connected to the housing. A second capacitor has first and second electrodes. The first electrode of the second capacitor is connected to the external terminal, and the second electrode thereof is connected to the housing. The first capacitor, the external terminal, the second capacitor, and the housing is arranged to provide a conductive loop.

Power converter with noise-current reduction capacitor

A noise filter is assembled to an electric power conversion device and has a metal housing casing and two capacitors connected to an external terminal of the device through which an electric power conversion circuit is connected to an external device. The two capacitors, the housing casing and the external terminal make a current loop. A magnetic flux of an alternating magnetic field generated in a part of the electric power conversion circuit penetrates in a first area and a second area formed in the current loop. A first induced noise current is induced in the current loop when the magnetic flux of the generated magnetic field penetrates in the first area. A second induced noise current is induced in the current loop when the magnetic flux penetrates in the second area so that the first induced noise current flows in a reverse direction to the second induced noise current.

Noise filter

In a power converter, an external terminal, a case, and capacitors are arranged to provide a conductive loop. The conductive loop defines thereinside a first region through which magnetic flux of an AC magnetic field penetrates, and a second region through which the magnetic flux penetrates. A magnetic-flux shielding member partly shields at least one of the first region and the second region from penetration of the magnetic flux of the AC magnetic field to adjust at least one of an amount of the magnetic flux penetrating through one of the first region and the second region, and an amount of the magnetic flux penetrating through the other thereof.

Power converter including a power converter circuit and a plurality of capacitors for reduction of noise currents

An electric power converter apparatus incorporates a plurality of electric power converter circuits having respective output terminals connected in common, with output power being produced from the common output terminals. Each converter circuit uses an identical switching frequency, in executing power conversion based on PWM control of switching by a plurality of switching elements. The switching operations of the respective converter circuits mutually differ in phase, by an amount determined in accordance with the currently applied PWM duty ratio. The phase difference value is predetermined for minimizing the amplitude of specific harmonic frequency components of a ripple current component in the output current from the apparatus.

Electric power converter apparatus which attenuates frequency components of ripple in output current

A power-supply apparatus is provided which includes a transformer, a primary semiconductor unit, a secondary semiconductor unit, and a secondary electronic device. Each of the primary semiconductor unit and the secondary semiconductor units has a plurality of semiconductor devices installed therein. The transformer, the primary semiconductor unit, the secondary semiconductor unit, and the secondary electronic device are electrically joined through connecting conductors. The transformer is laid on the primary semiconductor unit to make a first stack. Similarly, the secondary electronic device is laid on the secondary semiconductor unit. This permits the power-supply apparatus to be reduced in overall size thereof and minimizes adverse effects of electromagnetic noise to ensure the high efficiency in power supply operation.

Compact structure of power-supply apparatus capable of minimizing electromagnetic noise

A power supply apparatus includes a transformer which has a primary coil and a secondary coil, a primary side semiconductor component which configures a primary side circuit connected to a side of the primary coil of the transformer, a secondary side semiconductor component which configures a secondary side circuit connected to a side of the secondary coil of the transformer, a choke coil which is connected to the secondary side semiconductor component, and a base plate on which the transformer, the primary side semiconductor component, the secondary side semiconductor component, and the choke coil are mounted. Any two of the transformer, the primary side semiconductor component, the secondary side semiconductor component, and the choke coil configure a first stacked body stacked in a normal direction of the base plate, and other two of the transformer, the primary side semiconductor component, the secondary side semiconductor component, and the choke coil configure a second stacked body stacked in the normal direction of the base plate. The power supply apparatus has a pair of first lines connecting the primary side semiconductor component and the transformer to each other, and a pair of second lines connecting the transformer and the secondary side semiconductor component to each other. The first lines and the second lines respectively have a pair of first current paths and a pair of second current paths which are arranged so as to be adjacent to each other and are configured so that currents flow in the normal direction of the base plate. At least one of the pair of the second current paths is adjacent to at least one of the pair of the first current paths in a second direction orthogonal to a first direction in which the pair of the first current paths are adjacent to each other. The first current paths and the second current paths adjacent to each other in the second direction are configured so that currents flow therethrough in directions opposite to each other.

Power supply apparatus

An electric power source device has a transformer, a primary-side semiconductor module, a secondary-side semiconductor module, a secondary-side electrical component, a base plate and a circuit substrate on which substrate-side electrical components are mounted. The primary-side semiconductor module has a larger exterior size than the secondary-side electrical component. The primary-side semiconductor module and the secondary-side electrical component form a stacked section. In the stacked section, the secondary-side electrical component is stacked, in a vertical direction, i.e. a direction of a normal line of a mounting surface of the base plate, on the primary-side semiconductor module. The primary-side semiconductor module is directly mounted on the mounting surface. At least a part of the substrate-side electrical components is arranged inside of the primary-side semiconductor module in a horizontal direction, and inside of a second surface of the stacked section toward the mounting surface along the normal line.

Electric power source device

An electric power source device has a transformer, primary side semiconductor components, secondary side semiconductor components, a choke coil, a base plate and first circuit substrate and one or more second circuit substrates. The transformer has a primary side coil and a secondary side coil. The primary side semiconductor components form a primary side circuit connected to the primary side coil. The secondary side semiconductor components form a secondary side circuit connected to the secondary side coil. The choke coil has a smoothing circuit for smoothing an output voltage. The transformer, the primary side semiconductor components, the secondary side semiconductor components and the choke coil are formed on the base plate. The first circuit substrate is arranged parallel to the base plate. The second circuit substrate is arranged parallel to a normal line of the first circuit substrate.

Electric power source device equipped with transformer

A vibration-suppressed transformer is fixed to a base plate and includes a magnetic lower core, two or more magnetic upper cores, primary and secondary coils. The lower core is on the base plate. The upper cores are arranged face to face over the lower core. The coils are arranged between the lower and upper cores. Each upper core contacts the lower core, on an outer side of the coils, with a first gap being provided between the upper and lower cores, on an inner side of the coils. The upper cores are extended towards each other from the outer to the inner side of the coils, with a second gap being provided therebetween. The second gap is provided therein with a non-magnetic pressing member to press the lower core against the base plate, on an inner side of the coils.

Transformer incorporated in electronic circuits

The abnormality detection apparatus for a battery pack includes a first determining function of making a first determination that abnormality is present when a voltage across a unit battery of interest is higher than a first threshold, a second determining function of making a second determination that abnormality is present when the voltage is lower than a second threshold lower than the first threshold, a short-circuit function of making a short-circuit between a detection line of interest connected to one electrode of a unit battery of interest and an adjacent detection line connected to the other electrode of the unit battery, and a third determining function of making a third determination that there is faulty electrical continuity in the detection line of interest if the first determining function makes the first determination and the second determining function makes the second determination when the short circuit function makes the short-circuit.
