This management system for a computer system including a plurality of elements for which performance values are to be monitored generates one or more plans on the basis of: a performance value history of a specific bottleneck (an element that has been identified as the cause of a detected failure); management information that includes information indicating, for each countermeasure, the relation between a plurality of countermeasure attributes and a plurality of bottlenecks; and a countermeasure attribute corresponding to the specific bottleneck, and displays the one or more plans thus generated. Each of the displayed one or more plans includes one or more countermeasures. In each of the displayed one or more plans, each of the one or more countermeasures is classified into one of a plurality of countermeasure types.

Management system and management method for computer system

A management system manages a computer system having multiple storage apparatuses, which provide a virtual volume to a host. The computer system includes a pool, and the storage apparatus allocates a physical page in the pool to a write destination when writing to the virtual volume. The management system stores logical volume management information for managing a corresponding relationship between a storage apparatus in which a logical volume resides and a physical page forming the logical volume, and virtual volume management information for managing the corresponding relationship between a virtual segment in a virtual volume and a page allocated to the virtual segment, and based on the logical volume management information and the virtual volume management information identifies a first page migration, which is affected in a case where either a determination-target storage apparatus is stopped or a first storage area is blocked, and displays the first page migration information.

Management system and management method

The present invention provides a technique to efficiently rearrange data in actual regions. A management system acquires load lumped region variation information (access distribution variation amount) indicative of a variation in the position of a virtual region in a virtual volume in a storage subsystem which region corresponds to a hot spot. Then, based on the load lumped region variation information, the management system determines a load position unvaried hour(s) indicative of a hour(s) in which the position of the virtual region corresponding to the hot spot is almost or perfectly unvaried (the hour(s) in which the position of the hot spot is stable). The management system then displays the load position unvaried hour(s) on a display device.

Management method and management system for computer system

A computer system includes a server using a virtual volume (virtual logical volume) shared by a plurality of storage apparatuses. A management system managing the computer system accepts a selection of a first storage apparatus to be a determination target from among the storage apparatuses, performs a first determination of whether a first access path including the first storage apparatus exists or not. If the first access path exists, the management system performs a second determination of whether or not the first access path is an active access path used by the server for accessing the storage area (the storage area of the storage apparatus) assigned to a part of the virtual volume used by the server, and determines whether the first storage apparatus can be stopped or not on the basis of a result of the first determination or a result of the second determination. The access path is a path from the server to one of the storage apparatuses.
