A tube is composed of a first plate and a second plate which are opposed and engaged with each other. In a first region on both end sides of the tube, the first plate is formed into a shape in which an edge portion of the first plate is laid along a bent portion of the second plate so that an outer wall face of the tube forms a continuous face. In a second region of the tube, the first plate is formed into a shape in which the edge portion of the first plate is laid between the edge portion of the second plate and the bent portion of the second plate.

Heat exchanger

A heat exchange core has a plurality of flat tubes laminated in a thickness direction, each flat tube defining an exhaust gas passage in which the exhaust gas flows. A plurality of coolant flow pass holes are formed in each of the flat tubes, wherein each of the coolant flow pass holes penetrates the flat tube in the thickness direction. The coolant flow pass holes of each flat tube are connected with the coolant flow pass holes of the other flat tubes, in order to respectively form a plurality of coolant flow passages through which liquid coolant flows, and the coolant flow pass holes of each coolant flow passages are communicated with each other in the laminated direction, so that the coolant flow passages are formed to be perpendicular to the exhaust gas passages.

In a corrugated fin which is formed and bent into a wave-form, a plurality of both-side-cut-louvers, which are laminated on each other and formed into a group, and one-side-cut-louvers, which are arranged at end portions of the group of both-side-cut-louvers, are formed being raised, and a cross-section in the louver laminating direction of at least one of the one-side-cut-louversis formed into a substantial V-shape. Corrugated fin and heat exchanger using the same

Residual stress generated in strip metal W is removed by annealing the strip metal W which has gone through a pressing process, and a compressing process is implemented thereafter whereby, as portions hardened due to work-hardening (in particular, folded portions ) can be softened, the strip metal W which has gone through the pressing process can be easily compressed so that the radius of curvature of the folded portions is reduced to a predetermined dimension, thereby making it possible to improve the dimensional accuracy of the finished fin even if the fin is made of a metal having a relatively high hardness (stainless steel).
