A screen printer includes a mask, a substrate holding unit that clamps and holds a substrate below the mask by clamping members, a substrate holding unit moving mechanism that moves the substrate holding unit to contact the substrate with a lower surface of the mask, a paste filling unit that fills pattern holes of the mask with a paste, mask suction portions provided in the clamping members which suck the mask contacted with the substrate. The mask suction portions keep sucking the mask when the substrate holding unit moving mechanism moves the substrate in a direction away from the mask to perform plate releasing, and release the suction of the mask in a state in which the mask sucked to the mask suction portions maintains a posture parallel to the substrate after the movement of the substrate is started.

In a squeezing operation by a closed type squeegee mechanism which is configured so that paste compressed internally is packed from a printing opening between a pair of sliding members, before the packing of the paste into pattern holes via the printing opening, the sliding member positioned on a leading side of a squeezing direction between the pair of sliding members and moves in the squeezing direction so that the paste supplied to the outside of the closed type squeegee mechanism on an upper surface of a mask is packed into the pattern holes.

In outward path and returning path operations of a printing executing step where paste is packed into pattern holes by moving a closed type squeegee mechanism in a squeezing direction, the paste supplied to the outside of the closed type squeegee mechanism on an upper surface of a mask is spread due to a deposition members by moving the deposition members of paste deposition mechanisms positioned on a following side in a traveling direction, in the traveling direction in a state close to the upper surface of the mask. Therefore, a paste film having a predetermined thickness is formed.

In a returning path operation for moving a closed type squeegee mechanism in a direction opposite to a squeezing direction after an outward path operation where paste is packed into pattern holes by moving the closed type squeegee mechanism in the squeezing direction, the paste supplied to the outside of the closed type squeegee mechanism on an upper surface of a mask is spread due to a deposition member, by moving the deposition member of a paste deposition mechanism in a state close to an upper surface of the mask in the direction opposite to the squeezing direction. Therefore, a paste film having a predetermined thickness is formed.

Screen printing method and device including a closed squeegee mechanism and a paste deposition mechanism

At the two ends of a pair of clamping members () which sandwich and clamp a board () from the Y direction, mask supporting members () forming a rectangle frame are disposed, and a screen mask () is supported from below by the mask supporting members () in a state that the board () abuts against the under surface of the screen mask (). A downwards bending of the screen mask () can be prevented, and the time and labor of maintenance can be decreased by preventing the deposits of paste on the screen mask () that occur due to the bending.
