To provide a water/oil repellent composition whereby it is possible to obtain an article which is excellent in each of water-repellency, oil-repellency, washing durability, heavy rain durability and texture, a method for producing said composition, and an article which is excellent in each of water-repellency, oil-repellency, washing durability, heavy rain durability and texture. The water/oil repellent composition comprises a copolymer having units based on a monomer (a), units based on a monomer (b) and units based on a monomer (c), and a liquid medium. Monomer (a): a compound represented by (Z&#x2014;Y)X (Z: a Cperfluoroalkyl group, etc.; Y: a divalent organic group, etc.; n: 1 or 2; X: a polymerizable unsaturated group). Monomer (b): a (meth)acrylate having no polyfluoroalkyl group and having an alkyl group with at least 20 carbon atoms. Monomer (c): a compound represented by CH&#x2550;CRC(O)O&#x2014;[(CHO)(CHO)]&#x2014;H (R: a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and a/b=1 to 3).

Water/oil repellent composition, method for its production, and article

To provide a water/oil repellent composition whereby it is possible to obtain an article which is excellent in each of water repellency, oil repellency and heavy rain durability, a method for its production, and an article which is excellent in each of water repellency, oil repellency, heavy rain durability and texture. The water/oil repellent composition comprises a copolymer containing structural units based on a monomer (a), structural units based on a monomer (b) and structural units based on a monomer (c). Here, the monomer (a) is a compound represented by (Z&#x2014;Y)X (wherein Z is a Cperfluoroalkyl group, etc.; Y is a bivalent organic group, etc.; n is 1 or 2; and X is a polymerizable unsaturated group). The monomer (b) is a (meth)acrylate having no polyfluoroalkyl group and having an alkyl group with at least 12 carbon atoms. The monomer (c) is a monomer having a poly(oxypolyfluoroalkylene) chain.

It is possible to obtain a porous substrate having a water/oil repellent-treated surface and a moisture-permeable waterproofing film, which has favorable water/oil repellency and wash durability, through which penetration of a coating liquid for formation of the moisture-permeable waterproofing film is suppressed, and from which peeling of the moisture-permeable waterproofing film is suppressed. A water/oil repellent composition comprising a copolymer (A) having from 60 to 95 mass % of units based on a monomer having a Rgroup having at most 6 carbon atoms and from 5 to 40 mass % of units based on vinylidene chloride, a copolymer (B) having from 50 to 95 mass % of units based on a halogenated olefin and from 5 to 50 mass % of units based on a monomer having a crosslinkable functional group, and a medium (C), wherein the proportion of the copolymer (A) is from 70 to 90 mass %, and the proportion of the copolymer (B) is from 10 to 30 mass %.

Water/oil repellent composition and article

To provide a water/oil repellent composition with which an article which has favorable water/oil repellency and washing durability, and into which infiltration of a coating liquid can be suppressed, is obtained, and which presents a low environmental impact, its production method and an article having its surface treated with the composition. A water/oil repellent composition comprising a copolymer (X) having structural units based on the monomer (a) and structural units based on the monomer (b), and an aqueous medium, wherein the mass average molecular weight of the copolymer is at least 60,000, and the proportion of the structural units based on the monomer (a) is 60 to 95 mass %. Monomer (a): by (Z&#x2014;Y)X, wherein Z is a e.g. Cpolyfluoroalkyl group, Y is e.g. a bivalent organic group having no fluorine atom, n is 1 or 2, and X is a polymerizable unsaturated group. Monomer (b): vinyl chloride.

Water/oil repellent composition, method for its production and article

To provide a copolymer which can impart sufficient dynamic water repellency, after air-drying water repellency and friction durability to a surface of an article, and which has low impact on the environment, a method for producing the same, a water repellent composition and an article excellent in dynamic water repellency, after air-drying water repellency and friction durability. A copolymer which is characterized in that it has structural units based on the following monomer (a) and structural units based on the following monomer (b), wherein the content of structural units based on the monomer (a) is from 5 to 95 mass % in the total structural units (100 mass %), the content of structural units based on the monomer (b) is from 5 to 60 mass % in the total structural units (100 mass %) and the sum of the contents of structural units based on the monomer (a) and structural units based on the monomer (b) is at least 65 mass % in the total structural units (100 mass %), and a water repellent composition which comprises the copolymer: Monomer (a): a (meth)acrylate having no Rgroup and having a Calkyl group; Monomer (b): a halogenated olefin.

Copolymer and method for producing the same

A water- and oil-repellent agent composition having a lower environmental impact to obtain articles having higher water-repellent friction durability and improved texture. The invention also provides an article treated on the surface with the water- and oil-repellent agent composition. The water- and oil-repellent agent composition includes a first fluoropolymer having structural units based on a first monomer and structural units based on a second monomer; a second fluoropolymer (excluding the first fluoropolymer) having structural units based on a third monomer; and an aqueous medium. The first monomer: compound represented by (Z&#x2014;Y)X, where Z is a Cpolyfluoroalkyl group or the like, Y is a bivalent organic group or the like, n is 1 or 2, and X is a polymerizable unsaturated group. The second monomer: (meth)acrylate having a Calkyl group but not a polyfluoroalkyl group. The third monomer: a fluoroolefin.

To provide a water/oil repellent composition which can impart water/oil repellency to a surface of an article without having its texture deteriorated, and has excellent durability against washing and stability, a method for producing such a composition, and an article treated with such a water/oil repellent composition. A water/oil repellent composition which comprises a copolymer having polymerized units derived from monomer (a), polymerized units derived from monomer (b) and polymerized units derived from monomer (c). Here, monomer (a) is a compound represented by the formula: (Z&#x2014;Y)X; wherein Z is a Cperfluoroalkyl group or the like; Y is a bivalent organic group or a single bond; n is 1 or 2; and X is a polymerizable unsaturated group; monomer (b) is a (meth)acrylate having no Rgroup and having a Calkyl group; and monomer (c) is monomer (c1) having no Rgroup and having a blocked isocyanate group or monomer (c2) having no Rgroup and having at least two polymerizable unsaturated groups.
