Provided is an X-ray tube which can perform stable X-ray radiation under a desired condition in a radiation region extending in a predetermined direction. Included are a base plate having an opening portion and made of alloy 426, an X-ray transmission window made of titanium foil and arranged to close the opening portion of the base plate, a flat box-like vessel portion attached to the base plate and inside of which is in a vacuum state, an X-ray target provided at the opening portion in the vessel portion, and an electron source injecting electrons to the X-ray target in the vessel portion. The electron source includes a liner cathode, a first control electrode pulling out electrons from the cathode and a second control electrode restricting radiation range of the pulled-out electrons. At this time, X-rays emitted from the X-ray window spreads radially from opening shape of the opening portion.

X-ray tube

An X-ray tube includes a radiopaque substrate including a window portion, an X-ray transmission window closing the window portion, an X-ray target provided at the window portion from an inner surface side of the substrate, a highly-evacuated container portion attached to the inner surface of the substrate, a cathode, a first control electrode and a second control electrode provided inside the container portion. A shielding electrode is provided at the inner surface of the substrate so as to surround the window portion. Electrons collide with the X-ray target to generate X-rays. Electrons reflected on the X-ray target between the shielding electrodes are absorbed by the shielding electrodes, so an inner surface of the container portion is not charged. The electron emission from the cathode is not affected by the reflected electrons, so a change in target current is small, and thus X-rays of substantially constant intensity can be radiated.

An X-ray tube is disclosed. The X-ray tube includes a substrate, a box-shaped case attached to the substrate and being in a high-vacuum state, an X-ray target arranged in the opening of the first substrate in the inside of the case, and a cathode arranged in the case and supplying an electron to the X-ray target. The substrate includes first and second substrates made of 426 alloy and respectively having an opening of honeycomb structure, and an X-ray transmissive window sandwiched between the first and second substrates which is made of a titanium foil and close the opening. The X-ray transmissive window is reinforced by a honeycomb structure of the substrate from both surfaces. Thus, the substrate and the X-ray transmissive window are not deformed, and strength of the package is improved.

A getter support capable of permitting a getter to be compactly arranged in a vacuum envelope while keeping a space for the getter minimized. The getter support includes holders for vertically interposedly holding a getter, first support legs formed integrally with the holders so as to downwardly extend therefrom, and second support legs formed integrally with the holders so as to upwardly extend therefrom. The getter support is fixedly arranged in a getter chamber while being pressed by elasticity of the second support legs. The second support legs are varied in deflection depending on contact thereof with a second substrate of an envelope. This permits a distance between an upper surface of the getter and the second substrate of the envelope to be constantly kept at a desired value.
