A production method of a toner having a toner particle that contains a binder resin and an external additive that is externally added to the toner particle, wherein the production method has a toner particle dispersion step of obtaining a toner particle dispersion by dispersing the toner particle and an inorganic dispersant in an aqueous medium; and an external addition step of externally adding the external additive to the toner particle through addition of the external additive to the toner particle dispersion.

A toner comprising a toner particle that contains a binder resin and a wax, wherein the toner particle contains an organosilicon polymer as given by formula (1) below;R&#x2014;SiO&#x2003;&#x2003;(1),in formula (1), Ris an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbons; in a cross section of the toner particle observed using a transmission electron microscope, in terms of a distance A from the centroid of the cross section of the toner particle to a contour of the cross section, the organosilicon polymer is present in a region that is not more than 80% of the distance A from the centroid; and an absolute value of a difference between an SP value of the organosilicon polymer and an SP value of the wax is not more than 0.70 (cal/cm).

Provided is a toner containing a toner particle comprising a binder resin and an organosilicon polymer, wherein the organosilicon polymer contains an organosilicon polymer particle, the organosilicon polymer particle has a structure represented by the following formula (1):R&#x2014;SiO&#x2003;&#x2003;(1)in formula (1), Ris a Calkyl group, and in cross-sectional observation of the toner particle by transmission electron microscopy, the organosilicon polymer particle is present in a region extending up to 80% of the distance A from the centroid out of the total distance A from the centroid of the toner particle cross-section to the contour of the cross-section, and the particle diameter of the organosilicon polymer particle is from 10 nm to 200 nm.

A toner has a toner particle including a binder resin, a colorant, and a wax, in which in a cross section of the toner particle observed under a scanning transmission electron microscope, a proportion of the number of toner particles having a void with a long diameter of 0.50 &#x3bc;m or less is 60 number % or more, and a proportion of the number of toner particles having a void in a region from an outline of the cross section of the toner particle inward to 1.00 &#x3bc;m in a total number of the toner particles having a void is 30 number % or less.
