Example implementations described herein involve a system for predicting vehicle behavior with a higher efficiency which can reduce the number of sensors and the amount of data needed for vehicle control systems. Example implementations described herein can be used for any type of vehicle control system, such as a powertrain control system, an adaptive cruise control system, an autonomous driving system, because the target vehicle to be predicted can be replaced to a preceding vehicle, a surrounding vehicle, and an ego vehicle.

The recommended speed acquisition unit acquires a first recommended speed, being a new recommended speed related to a first section. Provided is a vehicle control device with which improved fuel economy and lowered exhaust gas emissions can be effectively achieved without adversely affecting the driver when traveling while following a leading vehicle. The present invention has: a following-determination means that, during travel while following a leading vehicle, determines, on the basis of the speed of the host vehicle, the speed of the leading vehicle, and the distance from the leading vehicle, whether the host vehicle will be able to follow the leading vehicle by coasting; and an idle stop determination means that, when the following-determination means has determined that the host vehicle will be able to follow the leading vehicle by coasting, and the driving/travel state of the host vehicle satisfies other traveling idle stop criteria, determines that a traveling idle stop should be performed; and is provided with a determination criteria updating means for updating the determination criteria for the idle stop determination means in regard to criteria such as the leading vehicle characteristics, road surface conditions, and weather. In the event that it has been determined, from the determination conditions that have been updated in regard to the leading vehicle characteristics, etc., that following by coasting is possible, a control to shut off the on-board engine is performed.

The control signal calculation unit calculates, on the basis of the heat quantity, the temperature of the power element, and the coolant temperature, power element cooling performance that is the amount of heat transferred from the power element to the coolant per unit temperature difference, and lowers the driving power of the circulation pump when the calculated power element cooling performance is greater than a predetermined criterion.

A vehicular air conditioning system capable of suppressing the power consumption of a refrigerating cycle is disclosed. The vehicular air conditioning system comprises a refrigerating cycle circuit comprising a compressor, an outside heat exchanger and an inside air conditioning heat exchanger annularly connected in order, and a device cooling circuit comprising a heating unit, an inside cooling heat exchanger, an intermediate heat exchanger and a pump being annularly connected, the intermediate heat exchanger being constructed such that one end of a piping of the cooling medium for air conditioning is connected to a liquid piping, the liquid piping providing connection between the outside heat exchanger and the inside air conditioning heat exchanger, and an opposite end of the piping of the cooling medium for air conditioning is connected to a suction port of the compressor.

A cooling system of an electric vehicle includes a cooling medium circulation path that circulates a cooling medium to an electrically powered drive unit of a vehicle, a heat exchange unit between the cooling medium and external air, a cooling medium circulation unit, a blower unit that blows air against the heat exchange unit, and a control unit that controls the cooling medium circulation unit and the blower unit, thus controlling cooling of the electrically powered drive unit. The control unit controls the cooling medium circulation unit and the blower unit in a first cooling mode, when a drive force for the vehicle is in a first operational region, and controls in a second cooling mode that provides a higher cooling capability than the first cooling mode, when the drive force for the vehicle is in a second operational region that is higher than the first operational region.

The circuit includes a cooling heat-transfer medium circulation channel that circulates a heat-transfer medium for cooling. The cooling channel has a cooling heat-exchanger exchanging heat between the refrigerant in the channel and a cooling heat-transfer medium for cooling the in-vehicle equipment and a cooling circulation pump for circulating the cooling heat-transfer medium.
