A rotation of a right wheel (RR) and a rotation of a left wheel (RL) of a vehicle are locked respectively by independent parking lock mechanisms (). Each parking lock mechanism () comprises a locking operation prevention mechanism () which mechanically prevents the locking operation of the parking lock mechanism () when a wheel rotation speed exceeds a predetermined parking lock prevention wheel rotation speed. The controller (CU,) is programmed to prevent the locking operation of the parking lock mechanisms () of the right and left wheels (RR,RL) when a predetermined parking lock permitting condition based on wheel rotation speeds of the right wheel (RR) and the left wheel (RL) is not satisfied, thereby preventing a state in which one of the right and left wheels (RR,RL) is prevented from rotating while the other is not prevented from rotating.

Parking lock device

A drive unit for an electric vehicle is comprised of a motor, an inverter which supplies alternating current electric power to the motor, a speed reducer which is connected to the motor, and a cooling system which cools the motor, the inverter and the speed reducer. The speed reducer reduces a revolution speed of a mechanical output of the motor. The cooling system comprises a heat exchanger at which first refrigerant for receiving heat of at least one of the motor and the inverter receives heat of second refrigerant for receiving heat of at least one of the motor and the speed reducer.

Drive unit for electric vehicle

The disclosure is directed to a motor/generator including a magnetic circuit that is created between a rotor and stator through a first air gap and a second air gap so that a magnetic field (magnetic flux) passes through two parts of the edges of multiple stator teeth parts. A first protruding end part and a second protruding end part of the stator teeth parts which face each air gap may contain different shapes with regard to the circumferential direction of the rotor. These shapes and orientation of the first and second protruding end parts may reduce the cogging torque of the motor/generator.

Motor/generator to reduce cogging torque

The disclosure is directed to an electrical motor that includes a rotor and stator with improved cooling of the motor. The improved cooling is due to a convenient coil connecting structure of the stator. Outer and inner peripheral connectors connect the coil wound ends at the outer and inner peripheral sides of the stator, respectively. From this structure, heat sources, such as the connectors, are distributed to both the outer peripheral and inner peripheral sides of the stator core. In this manner, the motor may more effectively be cooled through the distributed heat sources.

Distribution of motor heat sources

A rotating electric machine is comprised of a stator having a stator core and a stator coil wound around the stator core, the stator core having at least two tip portions, and a rotor having a rotor core and a plurality of permanent magnets provided in the rotor core, the rotor being rotatable relative to the stator. A direction of flux of the permanent magnets is perpendicular to a direction of an array of the stator, and the tip portions of the stator core sandwich the rotor and are disposed to be nearer to the rotor than the stator coil.

Rotating electric machine

A rotor () for a rotary electric machine () comprises a rotation shaft (), and a plurality of rotor cores (-) fixed to the rotation shaft () and axially split. The rotor cores (-) have outer peripheral surfaces (A-A) with a circular cross section. Permanent magnets () extending through the rotor cores (-) are arranged at equal circumferential intervals. Voids (B-B) extending axially through the rotor cores (-) are formed between the outer peripheral surfaces (A-A) and the permanent magnets (). The voids (B-B) of two adjacent rotor cores (-) are formed at circumferentially different positions, thereby being capable of suppressing the cogging torque without introducing a reduction in output torque.

Rotor for rotary electric machine

An integrated drive motor unit which is integrally constituted of a motor, an inverter and a reducer differential unit arranged in a row, and a frame member. The reducer differential unit is connected to an output shaft of the motor, and distributes torque of the motor to a pair of axles, one of which passes through the inverter. The frame member constitutes a part of the motor and a part of the reducer differential unit, and has a portion surrounding the axle passing through the inverter. The inverter is disposed outside the frame member.

Integrated drive motor/differential/inverter unit with improved housing for a vehicle

A cooling structure and a rotating electric machine with the cooling structure are provided. The cooling structure produces sufficient reductions in the temperature of the stator core while at the same time not causing a large reduction in the output of the rotating electric machine. The rotating electric machine is provided with a first cooling medium passage formed in the slot. In addition, a second cooling medium passage is provided which extends in parallel to the first cooling medium passage and allows flow of the same cooling medium as the first cooling medium passage. The stator core comprises at least a section of the passage wall of the second cooling medium passage. The second cooling medium passage is disposed so that the second cooling medium passage does not impede the flow of magnetic flux in the stator core.

Rotating electric machine and cooling structure for rotating electric machine

A motor/generator () comprises a permanent magnets () having a V-shaped surface projecting in the center of a rotor (). These permanent magnets () are disposed so that the V-shaped surface faces the center of the rotor (). In this way, the permanent magnets () are prevented from sliding on the fitting surfaces () of the insertion holes (), and the permanent magnets () can be fixed at predetermined positions. Further, magnetic losses caused by the rotor () can be reduced, and efficiency of the motor/generator can be improved.

Permanent magnet motor/generator

A hybrid vehicle is provided that lowers the cost of series hybrid vehicles in order to make it easier for series hybrid vehicles to gain popularity. A hybrid vehicle equipped with an engine, a first rotary electric machine and a second rotary electric machine. The first rotary electric machine is coupled to the output shaft of the engine, while the second rotary electric machine is electrically coupled to the first rotary electric machine and coupled to the drive wheels of the vehicle. The maximum generated electric power of the first rotary electric machine is substantially equal to the maximum output power of the second rotary electric machine.

Hybrid vehicle

A stator for a rotary electric machine is provided to curb decreases in output caused by magnetic flux leakage. The stator has a stator core with stator coils that are wound around tooth parts of the stator core. The tooth parts of the stator core are arranged to form a rotational space with respect to a rotor, and housed inside the slots and cooling medium passages are formed inside the slots by blocking the openings of the slots. The protrusions are provided that protrude into the slots from both lateral surfaces of the tips of the tooth parts. The plates formed with grooves on both sides thereof that fit on the tips of the protrusions are arranged between adjacent ones of the protrusions so as to block the openings of the slots. A sealing member is formed on the rotor side of the plates.

Stator structure for rotary electric machine

A rotating electric machine using an inner section of a slot of a stator as a cooling passage obtains highly effective cooling performance with a small amount of cooling medium. An opening for a slot in a stator is closed by an under plate having a closing member. A regulating plate is disposed which is a member for regulating the cross-sectional area of the passage in substantially a central section of the slot. In this manner, the cross-sectional area of the cooling passage with the plate in the slot is smaller than the cross-sectional area when the regulating plate is not provided by an area corresponding to the cross-sectional area of the regulating plate. This arrangement allows increases in cooling efficiency.

A motor or a generator which has permanent magnets on a moveable member effectively reduces eddy current loss in the permanent magnets. A permanent magnet which is provided for the moveable member of a motor or a generator, for example the rotor of a rotating motor, is divided into magnet sections ( A- E) having divided widths (t -t ) in response to the rate of change in the flux density in each divided magnet. Thus the eddy current loss in each magnet section ( A- E) can be substantially equalized.

Motor or generator

This invention provides a rotating electric machine using an inner section of a slot of a stator as a cooling passage and allowing a high cooling efficiency. Furthermore, it provides a manufacture method for the rotating electric machine which allows streamlining of the manufacture of the cooling passage. A plate is attached to the plate retaining groove formed in proximity to the opening of the slot of the stator. A resin layer is formed by injection of resin into a space formed between the outer face of the plate and the mold set on an inner peripheral face of the stator. The plate is pressed by the injection pressure of the resin to come into close contact with the stopper and to create a seal which prevents leakage of resin into the slot. A leg is provided on the plate and extends into the slot for reducing the cross sectional surface area of the cooling passage.

Rotating electric machine and method of manufacture therefor

A stator structure is provided with a stator core having a plurality of cooling passages or slots and an annular resin layer formed on an inner peripheral surface of the stator core that defines a rotor receiving opening. The stator core has a plurality of protrusions disposed on the inner peripheral surface of the stator core to control the depth of the annular resin layer formed on the inner peripheral surface of the stator core. The protrusions have radial thicknesses that are substantially equal to the radial thickness of the annular resin layer.
