A device for radiating pulsed light toward a thrombus in a blood vessel includes a light source configured to output monitoring light to be radiated into the blood vessel, a light detector configured to detect returned light of the monitoring light and output a detection signal, and a computer configured to acquire a time waveform, which is a change in an intensity of the returned light over time, based on the detection signal, wherein the computer is configured to obtain a parameter on the basis of the time waveform and evaluates a reaction in the blood vessel according to the radiation of the pulsed light on the basis of the parameter.

Monitoring device and method of operating the same

The position of a metal markerrelative to an optical fiberis fixed, and the metal markercan be moved up close to a target site such as a thrombus. It is preferable that the position, in an optical fiber longitudinal direction, of a front-end face of the optical fiberis coincident with the position, in an optical fiber longitudinal direction, of a front-end face of the metal marker. More specifically, since the distance between the target site and the front end of the optical fiberis known by radiography, it becomes unnecessary to use a large quantity of contrast agent and irradiate a laser beam depending on skill and intuition, and therefore an effective laser beam irradiation becomes possible.

Catheter, examination system and thrombus removing device

A mammography device is disclosed. The mammography device includes a container configured to surround the breast and a plurality of optical fibers attached to be directed inward in the container and configured to perform radiation and detection of light. The container has a base member having an opening, a plurality of annular members continuously disposed to come in communication with the opening, and a bottom member disposed inside the annular member spaced the farthest distance from the base member. The annular members and the bottom member are configured to relatively displace the adjacent annular member on the side of the base member or the base member in a communication direction. Some of the plurality of optical fibers is attached to the plurality of annular members.

Mammography device

Light irradiates one light incident position on the surface of a scattering-absorption body. The light that propagates through the interior of the scattering-absorption body is detected at one light detecting position on the surface of the scattering-absorption body. On the basis of a light detection signal, a temporal profile of the light intensity of the detected light is acquired, and on the basis of the temporal profile, an mean optical path length of the light in the interior of the scattering-absorption body and information relating to the amount of substance to be measured in a region to be measured are calculated. The information relating to the amount of substance to be measured is corrected on the basis of the mean optical path length, such that the longer the mean optical path length, the greater the amount of substance to be measured is.

Method and device for measuring scattering-absorption body

A breast measurement apparatus comprises a receptacle for surrounding a breast; a plurality of optical fibers for irradiating the breast with examination light and detecting transmitted scattered light from the breast; an inner image generation unit for generating an optical CT image concerning the breast according to a detection signal of the transmitted scattered light; an ultrasonic probe, arranged so as to face the inside of the receptacle, for scanning the breast with an ultrasonic wave and receiving a reflected wave from the breast; an image generation unit for generating an ultrasonic image concerning the breast according to the reflected wave; and a mechanism for injecting and discharging a liquid interface agent into and from the inside of the receptacle.

The bioinstrumentation apparatus includes a light irradiation unit irradiating a measurement region with light, a light detection unit detecting diffused light from the measurement region, and a computing unit generating a reconstructed image for the interior of the measurement region. The computing unit calculates J coefficients wset for every pixel of the reconstructed image and more than 0 and not more than 1 (where J is the number of pixels of the reconstructed image) and carries out successive approximation computation by the following iterative formula(where k is an integer from 1 to N, N is the number of times of iterative computation, xis a pixel value of the jth pixel on the kth iterative computation, and dis an update amount of the jth pixel on the kth iterative computation) to generate the reconstructed image.

An optical CT apparatus is mainly composed of a container filled with an optical interface member ; a light-projecting section, comprising a light source and an optical switch , for projecting light into the container ; a light-detecting section, comprising photodetectors and shutters , for detecting the light from the inside of the container ; and an arithmetic/control section for calculating a spatial distribution of absorption coefficient. Optical CT apparatus and image reconstructing method

The present invention aims at providing an air conditioner used in an electric vehicle which can exert a sufficient cooling performance without enlarging the size of a motor for driving a compressor or supplying an excessive amount of driving current to the motor. The air conditioner of the invention is provided with a condenser fan for cooling a condenser and a motor for driving the condenser fan. A driving current Ap of a motor for driving a compressor is detected and compared with respect to reference currents A and A to select a driving current Vd (low voltage), Vd (moderate voltage) or Vd (high voltage) for controlling the rotation speed of the condenser motor. Since the increase in the load put on the compressor 2 caused by an increase in the temperature of the gas inside the condenser 4 can be suppressed by the cooling effect of the condenser 4 owing to the rotation of the condenser fan, a rotation speed of the compressor necessary to achieve the predetermined temperature can be obtained without providing a high driving current to the motor.

Measuring method and apparatus of absorption information of scattering

A method for determination of optical properties of light scattering material, includes calculating temporal changes in output light intensity with respect to a large number of combinations of reduced scattering coefficients .mu.s' and absorption coefficients .mu.a of a light-scattering material sample, storing the results, irradiating the sample with picosecond pulses of light and measuring temporal changes in the intensity of light coming out from the sample. When a measured temporal change in output light intensity is the same as or similar to a stored temporal change in intensity, the reduced scattering coefficient .mu.s' and absorption coefficient .mu.a of the stored temporal change in output light intensity are determined as the .mu.s' and .mu.a of the sample.

Method and apparatus for determination of optical properties of light

Apparatus for measuring characteristics of a scattering medium. A light source irradiates the medium to be measured with a plurality of measurement light beams. A wavelength selector unit selectively extracts diffused light having a particular wavelength. A photodetector unit measures a time response characteristic of the diffused light. The signal processing system drives the light source so as to sequentially cause measurement light beams to be incident on the scattering medium and controls a measurement action of the photodetector unit while analyzing the time-response characteristics so as to calculate the internal information in the scattering medium.

Measuring the characteristics of a scattering medium

An optical measuring method and an optical measuring apparatus are capable of obtaining the true mean time delay of a light waveform within a short time for the purpose of obtaining information on the internal structure of an object.
