A rear portion structure () of a motorcycle () comprises a chassis frame (); a rear wheel () positioned below the rear portion of the chassis frame (); a fender main body portion () anchored to the rear portion of the chassis frame () and positioned above the rear wheel (); a fender hanging portion () configured separately from the fender main body portion () and covering at least a portion of the rear wheel (); and a support stay () anchored to the rear end portion of the chassis frame () (rear end frame portion (), extending aft approximately horizontally from the rear end portion, and supporting the fender hanging portion ().

Motorcycle rear portion structure

To prevent an engine from being thermally affected by the air that has passed a radiator. A engine and a radiator for cooling the engine are attached to the body frame. An air guide plate permits lead air striking the radiator to a desired position to be disposed between the radiator and the engine. The air guide plate is formed with an upper wall at its upper portion, with lateral walls at its respective left and right lateral portion, and with an opening portion at its lower portion for discharging the discharge air of the radiator.

Air guide plate

An ABS modulator for a front wheel is supported on the side surface of an inclined portion located forward of a portion, having the largest width, of the right main pipe with a unit supporting stay in between, while being arranged in a space inside the front cowl covering the front side of the inclined portion. The ABS modulator is arranged on the outer side of the main pipe. Accordingly, it is possible to avoid a case where the arrangement space for other components is occupied by arranging the ABS modulator in a space on the inner side of the right and left main pipes, and to support the ABS modulator by utilizing the main pipes having a high rigidity. Further, the resulting configuration allows to ABS modulator to be located in a portion having a high rigidity without occupying a space for other components, such as an induction system.

Brake system for motorcycle

To provide an exhaust pipe structure in which the length of the exhaust pipe can be elongated while the total dimension is restricted. Provided is an exhaust pipe structure which includes an upstream-side exhaust pipe connected to exhaust ports of an engine. An exhaust chamber is provided which has an exhaust-gas inlet and an exhaust-gas outlet, and in which the upstream-side exhaust pipe is connected to the exhaust-gas inlet. In addition, the exhaust pipe structure includes a downstream-side exhaust pipe which is connected to the exhaust-gas outlet and which extends in such a direction as to move away from the exhaust ports. In the exhaust pipe structure, the exhaust-gas inlet is formed at a position farther away from the exhaust ports than the exhaust-gas outlet is positioned.

Exhaust pipe structure

A parking brake operating lever is arranged to allow a rider to operate the operating lever without leaning forward to a large extent, while securely avoiding an inadvertent operation. An operating mechanism for a parking brake is provided to a position, covered with a front cowl, of a right-side main pipe, below a tank cover. The operating lever is positioned to be partly exposed from a lower end portion of the side surface of the front cowl. Since the operating lever is positioned in a vicinity of the front end portion of a seat, the operating lever is easy to operate. Concurrently, since the most part of the operating lever is covered with the front cowl, an inadvertent operation is avoided.

Parking brake system

A space is secured inside left and right pivot plates and a space is secured in front of a rear wheel to increase flexibility in design. In a motorcycle including left and right pivot plates provided at the rear portion of main pipes, a swing arm is provided on pivots so as to be capable of moving in the vertical direction. Only one rear suspension is interposed between the swing arm and the main pipe that is disposed outside the pivot plate in the direction of the width of the vehicle. A lower end of the rear suspension is connected to an upper surface of an arm portion of the swing arm. The rear suspension is mounted to one of the main pipe so as to extend continuously from the main pipe and substantially linearly in the direction of the length of the vehicle in a top view.

Motorcycle

In a motorcycle, a pivot plate on a drive shaft side is arranged closer to a vehicle body center axis side than the drive shaft and, at the same time, a swing arm mounting portion of the pivot plate in the vicinity of the drive shaft is flattened. Further, a lower cross pipe is extended between the left and right pivot plates in a state that the lower cross pipe projects from the pivot plate on the drive shaft side, a down tube is lowered from a head pipe, a lower pipe is extended rearwardly in the longitudinal direction of a vehicle body frame from a lower end of the down tube, and a rear end of the lower pipe is connected to a projecting portion of the lower cross pipe thus offsetting the pivot plate arranged closer to the drive shaft side than the lower pipe to the vehicle body center axis side.
