Provided is a vertical pulverizing apparatus capable of suppressing abrasion of throat vanes () and elongating their abrasion resistant lives to thereby increase working efficiency. The vertical pulverizing apparatus is characterized in that: a throat () is provided between a housing () and a pulverizing table () and has an annular flow channel which is surrounded by a throat inner peripheral wall () and a throat outer peripheral wall () and which is partitioned by a large number of throat vanes (); and a slope part () extending diagonally downward from an inner peripheral wall surface of the housing () toward a top end of the throat outer peripheral wall () and a horizontal part () extending from a bottom end of the slope part () continuously to the top end of the throat outer peripheral wall () are provided so that top end surfaces () of the throat vanes () and a top surface of the horizontal part () can be set at the same height.

[Means for Resolution] The rotating classifier is characterized in that: comb teeth-like protrusion portions protruding toward a fixed member side are provided on top of rotary classification fins at intervals along the circumferential direction of the rotating classifier fins; a first gap is provided between an upper end portion of each of the comb teeth-like protrusion portions and a lower surface of the fixed member; a second gap formed between a protrusion portion and a protrusion portion adjacent to the protrusion portion is connected to the first gap; and an air stream flowing from the radial outside to the radial inside of the comb teeth-like protrusion portions through the first gap and the second gap is formed due to the rotation of the rotary classification fins.

A classifier capable of stably providing particles by further reducing the mixing ratio of coarse particles including a rotating fin () classifying solid particles by a centrifugal force, a cylindrical downward flow forming member () installed on the outer peripheral side of the rotating fin (), a recovery cone () disposed under the rotating fin () and the downward flow forming member (), and a housing (). A contraction flow area () is formed between the housing () and the recovery cone (), and a two-phase flow () formed of the mixture of the solid particles and gases blown up through the contraction flow area () is collided with the downward flow forming member () on the upper side of the housing () to form it in a downward flow. Then, that flow is led to the rotating fin side, classified into the fine particles and the coarse particles, and the fine particles are carried together with an airstream, passed through the rotating fin (), and removed. A circulating swirl flow development suppressing part () is installed at the upper part of the contraction flow area () and on the outer periphery of the downward flow forming member ().

A fuel supply duct, which supplies a mixed fluid of a solid fuel and carrier gas to one or more burners provided on the walls of a furnace, is provided with a branching part, and each of a plurality of branch ducts, which branch out from the branching part, is connected to a corresponding burner. Also a damper, with which the tilt angle with respect to the direction of flow of the mixed fluid can be changed, is positioned in the fuel supply duct at the upstream side of the branching part so that a mutual difference will arise in the solid fuel concentrations of the mixed fluid supplied to the respective branch ducts. A fuel distributor for fuel supply duct is thus arranged. The tilt angle of the above-mentioned damper is adjusted to increase the concentration of solid fuel in the mixed fluid supplied to a specific burner. At a burner to which the high solid fuel concentration is supplied, stability of ignition and stable combustion of the ignited flame can be obtained during low load operation.
