A primary metal terminal connects between a fuel pump and a drive circuit through a resin lid. A primary connecting point of the primary metal terminal connected to the drive circuit, is positioned around a drive control IC, and a primary exposed portion of the primary metal terminal, exposed to a receiving space of the resin lid is bent such that the primary exposed portion is resiliently deformable. A secondary metal terminal connects between an external circuit system and the drive circuit through the resin lid. A secondary connecting point of the secondary metal terminal connected to the drive circuit is positioned at a location that is further spaced from the drive control IC in comparison to the primary connecting point, and a secondary exposed portion of the secondary metal terminal exposed to the receiving space has a stiffness higher than a stiffness of the primary exposed portion.

Tank lid unit and fuel supply device

A total dimension of spacing dimensions of a gap provided by a metal rod on a side opposite to a metal housing in a first assembling structure and a second assembling structure is set to be larger than a difference in a thermal expansion amount between a resin lid main body and the metal housing in a reference radial direction when a temperature exceeds a reference temperature. A total dimension of each of a spacing dimension of a gap provided by the metal rod on a side toward the metal housing and a spacing dimension between a resin protrusion and the metal housing in the first assembling structure and the second assembling structure is set to be larger than a difference in a thermal shrinkage amount between the resin lid main body and the metal housing in the reference radial direction when a temperature falls below the reference temperature.

A fuel supply device includes a fuel pump, a filter case that houses a fuel filter, and a port member joined to the filter case, a fuel pumped by the fuel pump from inside a fuel tank is filtered by the fuel filter and supplied from inside the filter case toward an internal combustion engine, and the port member integrally includes a plurality of fuel ports that communicate from inside of the filter case to outside of the filter case.

Fuel supply device

A fuel supply device includes a fuel pump and a filter case that houses a fuel filter, a fuel pumped by the fuel pump from inside a fuel tank is filtered by the fuel filter and supplied from inside the filter case toward an internal combustion engine, and the filter case includes a case body having a closed bottom shape that forms a housing chamber of the fuel filter, a case cap that covers an aperture of the case body by being joined to the case body, and a residual pressure retention valve that, when the fuel pump is stopped, retains a pressure of the fuel supplied from inside the filter case toward the internal combustion engine, the residual pressure retention valve being disposed at a joint boundary of the case body and the case cap.

A valve structure includes a retention element, a first valve body, and a second valve body. The retention element is mounted to and is retained in a lower portion of a stored object. The stored object includes a pump device that pumps fuel from the fuel tank into the sub tank through a pumping passage that communicates an inside of the sub tank with an outside of the sub tank. The stored object is inserted from an upper portion of the sub tank and housed inside the sub tank. The first valve body is integrally formed with the retention element and extends from the retention element. The first valve body is located at a natural inlet open on the bottom portion of the sub tank. The second valve body is integrally formed with the retention element and extends from the retention element. The second valve body is located on the pumping passage.

Valve structure and fuel supply device

A flow-metering valve for metering a flow of liquid has a valve member, a stopper and an electromagnetic driving member. The valve member is reciprocally displaceably arranged between a first position and a second position in the liquid chamber. The stopper is arranged at the second position in the liquid chamber. The electromagnetic driving member generates a magnetic attractive force between the valve member and the stopper to hold the valve member at the second position when the electromagnetic driving member is energized.

Solenoid valve, flow-metering valve, high-pressure fuel pump and fuel injection pump

A fuel supply and injection system includes a fuel tank, a single electric pump unit, a plurality of fuel injection valves and a piping arrangement. The pump unit is provided in the fuel tank and includes an inlet for taking the fuel in the fuel tank and an outlet for discharging the fuel. The injection valves are secured to an engine main body. Each fuel injection valve includes a nozzle, which is disposed in a corresponding one of combustion chambers and injects the fuel supplied from the pump unit directly into the corresponding one of the combustion chambers. The piping arrangement connects between the electric pump unit and each fuel injection valve. The pump unit is the only pump for supplying the fuel to the fuel injection valves.

Fuel supply and injection system and method for controlling the same

A coating layer made of a lipophobic material is provided in a distal end of a nozzle needle of a fuel injection nozzle. The coating layer is formed by soaking the distal end of the nozzle needle in a liquid state lipophobic material.

Fuel injection nozzle having coating layer and manufacturing method thereof

A first member (11) and a second member (12) of metal materials of different kinds are overlapped one upon the other, and the surface of the first member (11) is irradiated with a laser beam to form a melt-solidified portion (2). The melt-solidified portion (2) has a nearly inverted triangular shape in cross section becoming gradually narrow toward the inside from the front surface side of the first member (11), and has a low-hardness layer (21) on the front surface side and a high-hardness layer (22) on the inside. The high-hardness layer (22) has a welded structure in which first layers (23) and second layers (24) having a hardness smaller than that of said first layers (23) are alternatingly laminated in the direction in which the welding proceeds.

Structure of and method for laser welding metal members and fuel

The present invention aims to improve evenness of atomizing of fuel in a fuel injection valve. An inner bottom surface of a fuel injection chamber 16 opened or closed by a needle valve 12 is designed in semi-spherical shape, and an injection nozzle 17 is formed obliquely on its bottom surface. To reduce deviation of flow velocity distribution in axial direction of said injection nozzle 17 of the fuel entering said injection nozzle 17, position of the injection nozzle 17 is deviated to a direction rotated by 90.degree. from tilting direction of the injection nozzle 17 toward swirling direction of the fuel with respect to the center of the bottom surface of the fuel injection chamber 16. This is because, in case the injection nozzle 17 is provided at the center of the bottom surface of the fuel injection chamber 16, axial flow velocity reaches minimum at 90.degree. and reaches maximum at 270.degree.. The deviation of the injection nozzle 17 is set in such range that no step is generated on a connection between inner peripheral surface of the fuel injection chamber and inlet of the injection nozzle 17. Further, total periphery of the inlet of the injection nozzle 17 is designed in R-shape (arcuate curved surface), and inner peripheral surface of the fuel injection chamber 16 is connected with the inlet of the injection nozzle 17 as a continuous smooth curved surface.

Fuel injection valve

A cylinder screw is fitted around an injector axially movably between a tapered surface and a flange. The cylinder screw presses down the flange in a direction to attach the injector to a cylinder head and presses up the tapered surface in a direction to detach the injector from the cylinder head. A stopper is formed annularly at the top of the injector and has a protrusion. With the protrusion being engaged in a positioning groove of the cylinder head, the injector is restricted from being turned in both rotating directions. Thus, the injector can be attached to and detached from the cylinder head with ease by only one cylinder screw without turning the injector. The flange of a retaining nut to which the tightening force of the cylinder screw exerts has a shortened axial length so that deformation in injector constituting members is reduced and changes in the fuel injection characteristics are reduced.

Fuel injection apparatus having cylinder screw for mounting fuel

A formation of deposits on a fuel injector is suppressed by controlling the temperature of the nozzle holder of the fuel injector around the nozzle to maintain at least a part of the fuel remaining on the nozzle holder surface after the fuel injection in a liquid state, to thereby hold precursors of the deposits in the liquid fuel to permit the precursor to be blown out from the nozzle holder surface by a subsequent fuel injection flow.
