An intake/exhaust type combustion equipment capable of permitting oxygen in a proper amount required for stable combustion to be constantly fed to the combustion equipment, irrespective of outdoor air conditions. An intake air temperature detection sensor is arranged for detecting a temperature of combustion air fed to a burner by a combustion air feed fan and an oxygen data output element is arranged for outputting oxygen data corresponding to an oxygen concentration in combustion air depending on the temperature detected by the intake air temperature detection sensor. The oxygen data output element outputs oxygen data on the oxygen concentration or a variation in oxygen concentration based on the detected temperature. A combustion variation unit is configured so as to output a feed rate variation command for varying balance between the amount of fuel fed to the burner and the amount of combustion air fed thereto to ensure that combustion air is fed in a proper amount to the burner, on the basis of the oxygen data. Thus, the combustion variation unit controls a fuel feed element and the combustion air feed fan so that data on the amount of oxygen are obtained from data on a temperature of intake air, to thereby maintain balance between the amount of fuel fed to the burner and the amount of oxygen required for combustion in the burner.

Intake/exhaust type combustion equipment

A discharge-type ignition device for an oil burner capable of permitting ignition of a wick to be carried out at any optimum position of the wick which is fixed. First and second discharge electrodes are arranged in proximity to the wick when it is raised to a combustion position. An ignition switch is kept turned on in the course of upward movement of the wick for ignition, so that spark discharge is generated between the discharge electrodes toward the wick being raised. The wick is raised to an uppermost position beyond the combustion position every time when the ignition operation is carried out, so that ignition may take place at any optimum position of the wick.

Discharge-type ignition device for oil burner

A combustion cylinder structure for an oil burner capable of stably carrying out minimum combustion as well as controlling the combustion operation over a wide range. The structure is so constructed that a lower heat-impermeable cylinder of an outermost cylinder construction of a multi-cylinder combustion assembly is provided at the upper end thereof with an inward collar, which is provided at the inner end thereof a cylindrical section for rectifying air introduced through a gap between the cylindrical section and an outer cylindrical member to guide it along the cylindrical member. Also, the collar is provided with through-holes, which are arranged in the circumferential direction to guide air along a heat-impermeable cylinder arranged on the heat-impermeable cylinder, resulting in preventing the generation of a turbulent flow between the outer cylindrical member and the heat-permeable cylinder.

Combustion cylinder structure for oil burner

A wick operating structure of the lever actuation type for an oil burner capable of finely adjusting the combustion with high accuracy during the combustion operation. The structure includes an operation lever for rotating a wick operating shaft which is provided with a drive pin and a plurality of drive levers pivotally moved independent from one another so as to be accessible to the drive pin. The drive levers are formed with a V-shaped recesses which are different in configuration from one another little by little and in which the drive pin is alternatively fitted to cause the operation lever to be pivotally moved to different positions little by little.

A fire-extinguishing device for an open-type oil burner is disclosed which is capable of effectively preventing the discharge of bad odor to a room due to unburned fuel oil gas at the fire-extinguishing of the oil burner. The fire-extinguishing device includes a damper for closing, at the fire-extinguishing, an opening of a combustion cylinder construction of the oil burner through which combustion gas is discharge to a room. The damper or combustion cylinder construction may be provided with an oxidation catalyst plate through which combustion gas is discharged to a room at the fire-extinguishing, so that unburned fuel oil gas may be removed by means of the catalyst plate.

An oil reservoir for an oil burner capable of ensuring oil-tightness between the oil reservoir and a partition with simple operation and structure and reducing a manufacturing cost. In the oil reservoir, a partition plate and a cover plate are provided with a plurality of spot welding portions and opposite to each other through an annular overlap formed therebetween. One of the partition plate and cover plate is formed at the overlap with an annular projection which is arranged in a manner to project toward the other to forcedly press the partition plate and cover plate against each other and the overlap is arranged at or near the spot welding portions, whereby the partition plate and cover plate are oil-tightly connected together.

Oil reservoir for oil burner

A fire-extinguishing device for an oil burner capable of preventing a wind blowing against the oil burner from adversely affecting combustion operation of the oil burner through the fire-extinguishing device to ensure safe combustion operation. The device includes a valve for operating an aperture through which an air chamber communicated through a wick receiving chamber to a combustion cylinder construction is communicated to an oil reservoir communicated to an ambient atmosphere. The valve is actuated to open and close the aperture when a wick is at a wick raised position and a wick lowered position, so that air may be supplied from the ambient atmosphere through the space of the oil reservoir, air chamber and wick receiving chamber to the combustion cylinder construction for combustion during combustion operation.

A safety device for an oil burner is disclosed which is capable of detecting abnormal combustion which forms an excessively decreased flame, for example, sufficient to produce incomplete combustion gas to operate a fire-extinguishing device of the oil burner. The safety device includes an abnormal combustion sensing and actuation mechanism which is adapted to receive heat rays from the oil burner to detect the abnormal combustion and a starting member selectively actuated by the mechanism to operate the fire-extinguishing device when the mechanism detects the abnormal combustion.

An automatic fire-extinguishing device for an oil burner capable of being manufactured with a low cost, compacted in construction and actuated with high accuracy. In the device, a gear which is loosely fitted on a wick actuating shaft and has a return spring loosely fitted on the shaft and fixed between the gear and a burner body is formed with a cutout about a portion thereof opposite to a stopper engaged with the gear when the gear is at a wick raising position. At the cutout is arranged a stop gear so as to be engaged with the stopper at the wick raising position, which is formed of a material having a friction coefficient smaller than that of the gear.

Automatic fire-extinguishing device for oil burner

An oil gauge for a cartridge-type oil tank capable of quantitatively indicating the amount of oil in the tank both during use of the tank and when oil is fed to the tank, while providing the tank with airtightness. The oil gauge includes a transparent cover plate arranged on a side wall of the tank so as to airtightly cover an opening in the side wall of the tank. A gauge base is mounted on an inside of the cover plate. On the gauge base are pivotally mounted an arm rod which is provided with a float and an oil indicator having a scale for quantitatively indicating the amount of oil in the tank. The scale is visible through the transparent cover plate. The oil gauge also includes a pair of stoppers arranged on opposite sides of the arm rod such that one stopper pivotally varies the position of the oil indicator with variations in oil level when the tank is in a working position and the other stopper pivotally varies the position of the oil indicator with variations in oil level when the tank is inverted and placed in an oil feed position.

The catalyst moving structure includes a catalyst moving mechanism including a vertically movable sliding shaft and a connecting rod pivotally mounted on the sliding shaft, a catalyst support member mounted on the sliding shaft, and a movement transmission mechanism including a cam device fitted on the wick operating shaft and a push-up lever operatively connected between the cam device and the connecting rod to transmit actuation of the wick operating shaft to the connecting rod to vertically move the sliding shaft.

A fire-extinguishing device for a wick ignition type oil burner adapted to discharge combustion gas to a room is disclosed which is capable of effectively removing bad odor generating materials contained in combustion gas produced during the fire-extinguishing operation to prevent the discharge of bad odor to a room. The fire-extinguishing device includes an actuation mechanism actuated with a wick actuating mechanism of an oil burner at the fire-extinguishing operation to lift a combustion cylinder construction of the oil burner and a combustion gas clarification mechanism which carries a catalyst thereon and is adapted to sealedly fit an upper portion of the lifted combustion cylinder construction therein so that combustion gas produced during the fire-extinguishing operation may be passed through the catalyst to remove, from the combustion gas, bad odor generating materials contained therein.

An ignition system for oil burner capable of positively accomplishing ignition without operating a combustion cylinder construction and keeping ignition performance for a long period of time. The ignition system is constructed in a manner such that an ignition heater is operated at a level below the combustion cylinder construction and a closing door is actuated in synchronism with the ignition heater so that an ignition window may be opened only when the ignition heater is approached to a wick for ignition.

Ignition system for oil burner

An oil burner of the wick ignition type is disclosed which is capable of effectively preventing the generation of bad odor due to unburned fuel oil gas after the fire-extinguishing operation as well as during the operation. The oil burner includes an air pumping mechanism. The mechanism comprises an air pumping means which is adapted to discharge air to a combustion cylinder construction when it is heated and suck air thereinto from the combustion cylinder construction when it is cooled and an air chamber arranged between the pumping means and the combustion cylinder construction so as to be communicated with the both. The air pumping means may comprise a rigid closed vessel formed of a heat transfer material and arranged to receive heat directly from the combustion cylinder construction. Alternatively, it may comprise a deformable closed vessel and a vessel deforming member formed of a thermo-sensitive deformable material such as shape memory alloy and arranged to receive heat from the combustion cylinder construction.
