A method for moving an upper mold against a lower mold in a mold casting machine having a mold clamping mechanism attached to a lifting and lowering frame. The mechanism has an upper mold lifting and lowering device that assembles and separates the upper and lower molds by lifting and lowering the upper mold relative to the lower mold and the frame. A space for a setting a core and for taking out products is formed between the upper and lower molds by lifting the device relative to the frame, and by lifting the frame relative to the lower mold. Then the frame is lowered until the upper mold comes close to the lower mold. Thereafter the upper mold is lowered by the device to form an assembled mold, molten metal is introduced into the mold and after the metal has solidified the upper mold is lifted by the device, all while the frame is kept fixed relative to the lower mold.

A low-pressure casting apparatus that prevents molten metal that is a residue in a conduit from being oxidized. The low-pressure casting apparatus includes a compartment for holding a molten metal, a pressure chamberthat can communicate with the compartment, wherein the molten meal is pressurized in the chamber, an on-off valvethat opens and closes holethrough which the compartment can communicate with the pressure chamber, a conduitthat conducts the molten metal to the mold, wherein the base of the conduit is connected to a lower part of the chamber so as to communicate with the chamber, the end of the conduit being made so that it can communicate with a sprue for a mold, a floatthat goes up and down in the pressure chamber, and a tank that stores an inert gas and that has a pipethat is connected to the upper part of the pressure chamber. The base of the conduit is connected to the pressure chamber so that the conduit can communicate with a space that is formed above the molten metal in the pressure chamber, when the level of the molten metal is lowered by raising the float after the molten metal in the mold has solidified, the mold having been filled with the molten metal by lowering and immersing the float in it which causes the level of the metal to rise.

Low-pressure casting apparatus and a method for filling it with inert gas

A device for low-pressure casting wherein the stalk or the guiding tube is filled with inert gas by causing the space formed over the molten metal in the pressurizing room to communicate with the stalk or the guiding tube. The device for low-pressure casting () wherein molten metal is supplied into a mold through a stalk () suspended from a gate for pouring of the mold () or through a guiding tube () connected to the gate for pouring at one end by pressurizing the molten metal by inert gas, the device including: a room for holding molten metal (); a pressurizing room () to be in communication with the room for holding molten metal through a hole for communication (), wherein a bottom end of the stalk () enters the pressurizing room or an opposite end of the guiding hole is connected to the pressurizing room, and wherein the molten metal is pressurized by inert gas; an on-off valve () for opening and shutting the hole for communication; a sensing device () for sensing that the space over the molten metal in the pressurizing room communicates with the stalk or the guiding tube; and a device () for supplying inert gas to an upper part of the pressurizing room.

A gravity type tiltable metal mold casting machine, comprising: a pair of opposing upright supporting frames (); a pair of opposing main rotating shafts () rotatably mounted on the upright supporting frames (); a main frame () suspended from and between the main rotating shafts (); an electric motor () attached to one of the main rotating shafts () for reversibly rotating it and hence the frame (); a drag die plate () vertically moved by mold-fastening cylinders () mounted on a lower part of the main frame (); a metal drag () secured to the drag die plate (), the metal drag having a drag pushing-out mechanism () for pushing an as-cast product out of the metal drag; a pair of opposing horizontal cope tilting shafts () secured to an upper end of the main frame at locations rearward of the main rotating shafts (); a cope-attaching frame () rotatably mounted at one end on the cope tilting shafts (); a cope die plate () secured to a lower surface of the cope-attaching frame (); a metal cope () secured to the cope die plate (), the metal cope having a cope pushing-out mechanism () for pushing an as-cast product out of the metal cope, a ladle () rotatably mounted about a horizontal axis of rotation, the horizontal axis of rotation being located rearward of the assembly of the metal cope and drag; and an electric motor () for reversibly rotating the ladle () about the horizontal axis of rotation, wherein the center of the assembly of the metal cope and drag is substantially on the axis of rotation of the main rotating shafts.

Gravity type tiltable metal mold casting machine

One of a drag platen and a hold furnace for low pressure die casting, having a riser pipe projected from the upper part thereof, is made to be elevatable, and the drag platen on which a drag is set is made to be movable between a first position right above the hold furnace and a second position where the drag is away from the hold furnace while a cope platen to which a cope is set is made to be elevatable. At the first position, the cope platen is lowered so as to match the cope with the drag, and at the second position to which the drag platen is moved, the drag is accessed.

Low pressure die casting apparatus

The flaskless molding machine includes a drag flask arranged so as to be rotated between a horizontal position and a vertical position, a cope flask arranged so as to be moved up and down when the drag flask takes its horizontal position and to be also rotated between a horizontal position and a vertical position in association with the rotation of the drag flask, and a squeeze plate for the cope flask arranged in the mold flask so as to be movable therein between the upper and lower openings of the cope flask.

Flaskless molding machine

Sand is charged into a space in a mold flask by a sand feed nozzle provided on the lower end part of a blow head inserted into a sand charge port formed in the top wall of the mold flask. The blow head is further lowered after completion of the charging so as to deeply insert the sand feed nozzle in the sand charge port in order to press the sand in the vicinity of the sand charge port within the mold flask, thereby uniformly compacting the entire sand in the space.
