Ink-jet recording device and control method thereof

A multi-part output paper trayincluding a plurality of tray platestoslidably arranged together in a paper eject direction is attached to a printer assemblyso that it can be extended/collapsed, the printer assemblyincluding a print head attached thereto for forming an image on recording paper. The extended/collapsed state of the output paper trayis detected by an angle sensor. A print operation is not performed when it is detected by the angle sensorthat the output paper trayis in the housed state, and a print operation is performed when the output paper trayis in the extended state.

Image recording device

An ink jet recording apparatus includes a disc tray which is contained in the recording device and on which a DVD disc is to be placed, a select switch for switching between a protruding state and an accommodated state of the disc tray, and a sheet feed tray on which recording sheets are placed and which are disposed substantially parallel to the disc tray, wherein the select switch, the sheet feed tray and the disc tray are operated on the front side of the ink jet recording apparatus. Further, a disc tray is movable in a printing direction and a tray discharge direction. When the disc tray is loaded into or unloaded from the recording device, the disc tray is transported in the tray discharge direction to move to outside an ink jet recording device. In other cases than the above case, the disc tray is accommodated in the ink jet recording device. Thus, the disc tray is transported into two directions. Therefore, the ink jet recording device is reduced in size in the printing direction, and it is compactly accommodated in a television rack in a home.

Ink jet recording apparatus

An inkjet recording apparatus includes a moving device which moves an inkjet head relative to a recording medium. When the head is moved relative to the recording medium by the moving device, a nozzle of the head ejects ink onto the recording medium, so that recording is carried out. The inkjet head includes (a) pressure chambers containing ink, (b) nozzles communicating through the pressure chambers, (c) piezoelectric elements, (d) piezoelectric actuators that deform to increase or decrease the capacities of the pressure chambers due to piezoelectric effect of the piezoelectric elements, and (e) a controller for driving the actuators at a frequency not less than 20 kHz. This structure allows the actuators to operate substantially noiseless, and an image can be recorded at higher speed.

Inkjet head and inkjet recording apparatus

An inkjet recording apparatus includes (a) a carriage, (b) a recording head mounted to the carriage, (c) a transferring machine for transferring a recording medium, (d) a driving machine for operating the transferring machine, (e) a driving-force-transmitting-machine disposed between the transferring machine and the driving machine, and for transmitting the driving force of the driving machine, (f) a rotary detector mounted to a rotating shaft of any one of rotating members constituting the driving-force-transmitting-machine, and disposed within the height of the driving-force-transmitting-machine, and (g) a detecting sensor for detecting a rotating angle of the rotary detector. In this structure, even if other members hit an element of the driving-force-transmitting-machine, they never hit the rotary detector. Thus the rotary detector is prevented from being damaged or deformed due to shocks.

Inkjet recording apparatus

A thin type ink jet cartridge consists of a passageway for holding ink, a thin type ink holder made of transparent material for accommodating the passageway, a graded scale put on the thin type of ink holder to quantitatively check the volume of the ink held in the passageway, ribs for structurally reinforcing the thin type ink holder, nozzles for discharging the ink held in the passageway at a recording paper, a shutter for covering the shutter when the ink is not discharged from the nozzles, a protecting plate for protecting the recording paper from contact with the nozzles by surrounding the nozzles positioned at a concave portion surrounded by the protecting plate.

A method for manufacturing an ink jet head which involves the steps of casting a first synthetic film on a metal film, etching the conductive metal to produce a pair of etched electrodes facing each other across an opening according to lithography and etching techniques, casting a second synthetic resin film being transparent on the etched electrodes and the first synthetic resin film, ablating both the first and second synthetic resin films with an excimer laser without damaging the electrodes to form both an expelling nozzle which penetrates the second synthetic resin film and an ink passageway which penetrates the first synthetic resin film through the opening, attaching an ink holding cap to the first synthetic resin film to hold conductive ink in a hollow portion thereof, and electrically connecting the etched electrodes with a voltage generator through electrical leads for applying a voltage generated in the voltage generator to the etched electrodes, wherein the etched electrodes project into the expelling nozzle. The conductive ink held in the ink holding cap is expelled from the nozzle through the ink passageway upon vaporization.

Method for manufacturing an ink jet head in which droplets of conductive

An ink-jet cartridge for ink-jet printers includes a nozzle-cleaning mechanism built in the cartridge itself for removing residual ink and foreign matter, such as dust and dirt including paper powder, from nozzles. Since the built-in nozzle-cleaning mechanism is replaced automatically when the cartridge is replaced, and since the replacement of the cartridge generally takes place before the nozzle-cleaning mechanism deteriorates mainly due to contamination with ink, the nozzles are always kept clean and a reliable printing operation with high quality printing is insured throughout the service life of the cartridge.

Ink-jet cartridge for ink-jet printers and ink-jet printer using the same

A dot-matrix impact printer includes a print head in a housing for printing a recording sheet fed around a platen. The recording sheet is pressed against the platen by a sheet presser roller. A roller cover or a flap is disclosed as a sound insulating wall closely to the sheet presser roller and has an edge held against the housing. The space above the print head is closed by the housing, the platen, the sheet presser roller, and the platen, so that the impact noise produced when the printer is in operation will not leak out of the housing, while at the same time the recording sheet fed around the platen is not blocked by the closure mechanism.

Printing device having a sound insulating wall

A dot matrix printer of a dispersion printing type in which a printing noise is suppressed and dots arranged in longitudinal rows are driven while shifting the timing for every print wire dot. The present dot matrix printer is characterized by a construction in which respective print wires are driven at different timings within one pitch, and a space around a print head is surrounded by a housing and a platen, and a sound generated in the space is transmitted outside through walls. Further, the present dot matrix printer is characterized in that there is provided a memory storing printing intervals among the whole dots and print head conduction time, and the print head is driven in accordance with information read out of said memory in order to correct deviation of dot rows arranged in a longitudinal direction of the print head from perpendicularity. According to the present dot matrix printer, since the print head is driven at a high frequency by an inexpensive control unit, the noise frequency at printing with the print head becomes high, and the generated noise is transmitted outside through walls. Therefore, attenuation in a high-pitched tone compass is large through walls, thus exhibiting an effect that the operation sound of the printer leaking outside is made smaller.
