A light source apparatus includes a first rotational filter section that can place a blue filter, a green filter and a magenta filter in a light path, a second rotational filter section that can place a yellow filter in the light path and a band selection filter section that can place an NBI filter that limits blue and green light to a narrow band, wherein the first and the second rotational filter sections are controllable so that in the case of normal light imaging, the yellow filter is placed in the light path when the magenta filter is placed in the light path and in the case of narrow band imaging, the NBI filter is placed in the light path LP and the yellow filter is placed in the light path when the green filter is placed in the light path.

Light source apparatus and endoscope system

An endoscope apparatus for reducing a halation for a large observation area without an illumination nonuniformity includes an insertion part which has an end having a wide-angle object optical system with two or more types of illumination optical systems having different illumination strength or light distribution. An illumination optical system having a greater illumination strength or wider light distribution is arranged on both sides of the end in a direction of a long side of a screen of the wide-angle object optical system. An illumination optical system having a lesser illumination strength or narrower light distribution is arranged on both sides of the end in a direction of a short side of the screen of the wide-angle object optical system.

Endoscope apparatus

A larger number of micromirrors arranged on an illumination optical path of a lamp in a light source device for supplying an illumination light to an endoscope and by using a silicon chip as a base are arranged the micromirrors in a two-dimensional are set at two angles. When the micromirrors are set at one of the two angles, a reflected light is supplied to the light guide. When the micromirrors are set at the other angle, the micromirrors are driven such that the reflected light is not supplied to the light guide. An intensity of illumination light supplied to the light guide or the like is adjusted at a high speed by using a brightness level by selected the micromirrors at the two angles respectively, so that an endoscope image which can be easily observed is obtained.

Light source device for endoscope using DMD

An apparatus and method is disclosed which stabilizes the light incident a light guide end over a guaranteed operating lifetime of a lamp used to illuminate the light guide end. The apparatus and method minimize variation in illumination incident a light guide end without, for example, controlling the electrical input to the lamp. The invention is especially effective for light guides having a narrow outer diameter, and compensates not only for movement of a region of maximum luminosity, as occurs in lamps where the cathode is partially consumed during operation of the lamp, but also for the lamp luminosity decreasing with age.
